I thought it was a solid performance. No idea why folks are judging when we should be fully enjoying a concert since there haven’t been any in a YEAR! I’d much rather appreciate the challenges of live vocals than wonder if they’re lip syncing. Those on the field rivaled competition marching band technique! Loved the choir! Great reaction!

i dont understand why so many people HATED it. There really wasn't anything bad other than the volume of his vocals! I mean some people may not have cared for it just cuz they're not fans of his, but you have to admit it was a great performance. I'm not the biggest fan of his, like I like a fair amount of his music but he's just not an artist I listen to a ton and yet I really enjoyed it cuz it was a great show.

The soundtrack was supposed to be like that his little glitches between his songs that transitions into another of his songs. Just to let you know it’s supposed to mix like that. I saw a video of him performing that someone in the audience was recording on their phone and the mic volume was perfectly fine and plenty loud. It seems it was just the broadcast on TV they did someone to and it didn't come out as loud as actually in person.

I do think the vocals were low during broadcast ( saw phone recording from someone there and the vocals were loud) so it was just the broadcast. I could hear everything he was saying perfectly fine though myself watching on tv.

Weeknd is a great vocalist.If you listen to some of his older work you can hear some of the finest vocals and riffs by him.He performed all the hit songs by him which were pop songs but his genre is dark rnb in which he shines completely.

So the comment at the beginning about what was added on-screen and what was built, I'm pretty certain everything was built. The words Raymond James Stadium are a part of one of the large video screens at one end of the stadium. They look a lot more awesome at night over his set than they normally do.

I watched it live and immediately noticed the sound balance was off. Someone else said they wanted the fake applause boosted up. Why? Only when Pepsi published the video could we clearly hear the change ups. Whoever the Sound Mix company was really messed up. His performance was perfect, timing, choreography, vocals, choir and band. This was the first show to use Cinematic’s. Wow! By far, my favorite half time production. No one has come close to this type of movie-Broadway production for a half time show. Loved it. 🤩💫💃🏻🕺🏿

A wonderful performance. His moves are organic; they flow with the song. MUCH more enjoyable than a song choreographed to death. Sure his vocals could have been louder, but IT'S A LIVE SHOW. I can't stop watching it; especially the House of Fun to Blinding lights transition

I remember how bad the black eyed peas sounded and then when Madonna performed she mimed a bunch of songs she had performed live hundreds of times just because they couldn't control the quality of the audio.

Modem that’s kinda the point. For his latest album he’s had this whole theme going of Vegas and fitting in to the crowd. He’s had a series of music videos leading up to what happens when the bandages come off. It was a great performance but yeah the only thing I think sucked was that we couldn’t hear him that much. I believe everything turned out exactly how he wanted.

Maybe he's the worst sounding because he's the one who isn't as talented. I like his music, but maybe he isn't actually that strong of a singer without studio equipment. Idk because I've never seen his shows, but if it is all live and nobody is syncing, he's obviously the weakest. Some parts might be syncing, but mostly you can tell he's live because you can hear him breathing. He's got a ton of catchy bops, though. I've been digging Blinding Lights like crazy.

No, it’s definitely the mixing’s fault. At the end of Earned It, he held out a very strong note for a very long amount of time, and he should’ve sounded much louder in the video, but the engineer messed up. Also, saying the Weeknd isn’t talented is a stretch. Is he the best? No, but his vocal skill, range, and delivery is out of this world.

Most people in the music industry regard him as one of the best vocalists. He sounds nearly identical live to in studio. Watch any of his live performances of his new album after hours and you'll see what I mean. This was definitely on the mixing.

I never said he couldn't sing. I'm saying it could've been a possibility considering the age of shit music we live in. He's good and puts on a great visual, but he isn't the best in the world. I hope some can agree with that. However, there are way, way worse performers. Omg so many. I'll take your word for it that his shows are great. I've only heard him on recordings other than maybe a couple snl or talk show performances. And yes, the sound engineer/mixer did a shit ass job. I just hope it didn't sound like that for the people in the stadium.
