You don't even have to be an XO fan to recognise how hard he worked. It was soo illogical that he didn't recieve one nomination. The fact that he didn't get one nomination when he deserved many (and everyone knows he deserved an award for Blinding Lights with the success it had, could've been under ROTY or SOTY) is soo disrespectful. Blinding Lights came out Novemnber last year! And it broke the record for the longest running song in the top 10 (and I think top 5 as well). The guy has 2 billboard number 1 songs coming from that album. Soo objectively, it's illogical that he didn't get 1 nomination. To argue the point further: the fact that he cared for other stuff outside of music (donating to the Beirut explosion, covid, and black business) and still got no recognition for his work from this big music cooperation is soo disrespectful. I'm really trying to figure out why would the Grammy's not nominate him but I literally can't think of anything, other than the choice he made to perform at the Super Bowl. As someone who works in the festival industry, artists get paid more per show, get higher billing/play bigger venues, see huge streaming bumps, and get more attention from their labels if they get nominated. Obviously it doesn’t move the needle significantly for Abel but The Grammy’s definitely do matter
