i started watching cursed because of daniel sharman (the actor who plays the weeping monk) and at first he seemed only like a glorified extra whose only point was to be the evil villain to me, but as the series progressed and we saw more of his character, he became so much deeper. he was never evil, just extremely broken and seeing more about that was beautiful, i'm so excited to see his growth next season. your edit is amazing at showing him in all of his glory!!

@@CathieSoli : I felt exactly like you, but had a change of heart when I saw the best of him, saving Squirrel. He was brainwashed throughout his childhood and ultimately used as a weapon against his own people, but he woke up. You could see that the Green Knight´s words got to him. Words of rebuke, but also of love, hope and forgiveness. And the next thing he does is risk his own life to save that courageous, little boy. If the Green Knight and Squirrel were able to forgive him, so can I.

@@jesusraydelsanchezrodrigue8279 In the book, he literally describes it as something broke inside of him while fighting the Trinity Guard and deciding to fight back. He does see himself in Squirrel. Monk also has a line in the book along the lines of "The children don't know what they are." He was saved and corrupted by Carden. In a comparison, he is similar to Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes. Kidnapped, changed, brainwashed, made into a weapon.

I feel so bad for him... Come on man! Who is going to love this broken man? He f*cking needs that so damn hard right now. My heart literally hurts like the goddamn Hell seeing this... Seeing, and knowing that a priest could do such things to an innocent child. He was so young, and he had already lost everything. His real parents, who probably loved him so much. His village. His brothers and sisters (may he had them). Only to be made like some kind of careless monster. Being kicked and tortured down over and over again so you one day will become strong enough to kill your own kind, without showing any emotions. He is called “The Weeping monk” but why? He has literally lost his feelings... His sorrow, anger, happiness... Everything. When he saw Squirrel he must have bin confused as f*ck. Seeing someone, just as innocent, brave, curious as you could have bin, if faith wouldn’t had took everything away from you. Seeing someone living the life you could have lived. Seeing your own spirit in someone else’s eyes. And all he could think was: “I won’t let you suffer as I did”. Maybe now, away from his past he will get a chance to heal his scars, and let himself be whatever he want. Walk his own path, not the one his (father) had prepared for him. I’m sure he will not kill Nimue, cause she will have the same effect on him as Squirrel did, but maybe is Nimue not only gonna end up as “ a good friend”, but as his soul-sister or maybe lover. I hope so, because they really seem to have the same willing to survive. Just as squirrel. I hope he makes the right choice in coming home to the place that once already was his home. The others will indeed don’t trust him at first but trust needs to be earned and he will do that, in some time. Together with Nimue, Morgana, Arthur, Merlin, Kaza and the little Percival he will protect his kind with his life. Just because he will never allow someone to take away from him what once already was taken from him. And then his name will be: “Lancelot... The Protective Monk”.

He's the most interesting character in the season. Dark, mysterious and a strong charisma even he's portrayed as the villain at first. Speaking to the others I felt a lack of synergy and conversation. Sometimes very poor and too forced. Especially Arthur is very boring and cringe sometimes, Nimue even being the main character she's too stiff and not very natural. She doesn't fit really actually but that's my opinion. Merlin and Lancelot have this BIG presence in the screen,tall and strong and that intensity in their eyes. Both of them with a dark past and ready to make a big change the history. They're like the two daddies who have seen a lot of cruelty fighting and ready to teach to the next generation. Season 2 is probably focused on the alliances, Percival and Lancelot will form a perfect duo combining audacity and skills. Nimue will reborn as the lady of the lake, Merlin will be full potential, Morgana as the new Widow, the Pope with Iris the main villain probably. Pretty sure Iris will develop new skills and discover the weak points of the Fey since she's been with them quite some time.

I shit you not, I came here to reveal my discovery. I'm on Episode 5 of this show I swear to God I'm not lying. They were bringing in future knights like Gawain and I told myself wait...where's Lancelot? Then I thought of the weeping monk....and i'm like "if these writers know what's best, that dude will switch sides and end up being Lancelot". I was 100% sure that wouldn't happen...so I google it to see and IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. I have never been so damn excited about a prediction like this...that's the perfect fucking move. He's such a badass and I love the actor too. I don't know his name but saw him on a couple other shows and always liked his characters. So fucking excited...twists like this and Merlin being Nimue's father are what make this show much better than it would otherwise be IMO. ( I predicted that too sort of but it was like 10 seconds before the reveal so I mean by then most people probably were thinking it).

Now that I'm done with the season, really excited for season 2 and loved how a lot of it went, but I didn't like how Lancelot pretty much got killed, then was suddenly okay. That made no sense.. unless maybe he used the ground to heal or something like when he fought Gawain before.. otherwise that was really dumb. They bashed his face with maces and just destroyed him....he never would have came back from that, he would have died of those wounds fast unless he healed. Anyone know? Also why can he use the ground to heal or w/e and not other fae?

Yess...he was taken in by the evil father carden who brain washed his mind but deep in his heart he always knew he was doing the wrong thing.....and therefore in the last few episodes he starts questioning the beliefs he had followed blindly throughout his childhood after talking to the green knight who stands by his side by not revealing who the weeping monk actually is even though twm tried to kill. Thus he saving squirrel shows the transition of him actually bringing out his hidden goodness.
