Mykel and Carli was written before the sisters' deaths, but it unfortunately sounds like it could be about it and a lot of people mistake it for a eulogy. They actually performed the song live at a benefit concert for the parents of Mykel and Carli. The video is on youtube and it's one of the saddest performances I've ever seen, Rivers looks absolutely devastated.

Wanda (You’re My Only Love) is, even by Rivers standards, so sad. Not only was it a slow acoustic song, but it contained plot elements from Angus that were eventually cut, like both of Angus’s parents being gay, so it makes sense that it was ultimately rejected. It’s on Rivers’s first Alone album. Weezer had a habit of writing love songs about female co-workers. It started with Jamie Young, who actually started the bidding war to get them signed at Geffen. Then it was Susanne, Mykel & Carli, Susanne, the demo Lisa, Ms. Sweeney (originally Ms. Sheeny, after assistant Sheeny Bang), The End of The Game (Suzy Shinn). The deaths of Mykel & Carli Allen, and their sister Krista, basically ended work on their third album and broke up the band in 1997. It was a devastating loss. The Blue Album version of I Swear It’s True is different recording and it sounds completely different than the Pinkerton version. It’s a good look into how the band’s sound was changing from 1993 to 1996. You just skipped it. Like it was nothing.

you really should find a bootleg of songs from the black hole if you can, it plays out like a spacey rock opera and with all the little interludes it really becomes a different experience than just the songs shuffled around on pinkerton deluxe
