One incredibly unique fact that I think you missed when talking about the FG42 was its dual mode operating system that I don't think has been done on any other (at least well-known) weapon. If you were firing the gun on semi-auto, the gun fired in a closed bolt configuration for superior single shot accuracy. But when you switched it to full-auto, it would start shooting from an open bolt like a typical LMG. Very weird fact about it that is often forgotten about the weapon itself in my opinion.

For anyone wondering about the VR game he's playing for showing off a lot of these, it's a game called Hotdogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. It's a fantastic game with over 500 perfectly modeled firearms (and counting) and plenty of high-quality mods for weapons and maps. The hidden gem of this game is Take and Hold, a fantastic game mode that I have personally played literal HUNDREDS of hours of, it's endless fun. Plus there are tons of other game modes and plenty of sandbox levels. The devs are constantly adding new things, even 8 years after the game's original release. All this for only 20 bucks. BUY IT! I've never really understood the consept of a proggressive trigger for weapons intended for military use, because one of the big things that adrenaline does to you is it almost completely removes your fine motor functions, meaning unless you're extremely skilled, it's difficult to pop off single shots. That is unless I've understood the order of the firing modes copmletely wrong and pressing the trigger all the way down causes the gun to fire in semi auto.
@DarthBrandybuckАй бұрын

The Sharps wasn't the "standard issue rifle" at the time, hell it wasn't even the standard issue breach loader (which were generally only given to calvary). The standard issue rifle was the muzzle loading 1861 Springfield rifle musket, loaded just like the brown bess from the revolutionary war only much, much more accurate. The closest thing to "standard issue" breach loader was the Spencer repeating rifle. The army standardized this as the standard issue calvary carbine after the war
@DarthBrandybuckАй бұрын

Suggestion for your next parts: Groza and PSS pistols. Both were obscure Soviet assassination guns, using ammunition that traps the gas in the casing after a round is fired. This means that the gun is near perfectly silent and doesn't need a supressor. PSS is self loading and you'll hear the action cycle, but the Groza is scarily quiet.
