Well, if SPM is anything to go by, there is an afterlife for these worlds and being deleted from existence stops you from going there. And since the real thing we fear about death is ceasing to exist, it would be a better fate to die (and go to the Underwhere) than to be erased from existence. But which of these was truly the more grim fate? To be trapped in a moment of pain forever, or to simply cease to be?

Blue Ribbon I disagree. If I game "registers" that keeping the A button press has different interaction than pressing A and letting go. We need to define what is an A press. Is it hitting the button and letting go or is it simply hitting the button? If the former, then the mechanic of half-press does exist by the rules of the given game.

I think that the most interesting feature about the intro stage, is that unlike a lot of intro stages in nintendo games, this actually seems like it was intended as exactly that - an intro. Plenty of games have either real levels with a specific "demo friendly" loadout (zelda games comes to mind) or levels from an earlier development cycle of the game, either developer playgrounds, or just scrapped concepts.

Im so excited and happy you made this video!!!! Ever since I first played this game when i was little so many years ago, back in 2012 (I loved this amazing game back then and still do, even though when I first played it I was scared of getting past a paragoomba in the first level for some reason), I remember wondering and wondering about that title screen level! In one of the levels that ends with you on a roof, I think a underground level, I thought jumping over the walls would reveal this title screen level for some reason, I think it was since the walls surrounding the area were similar to the ones on the title screen level. Of course, I found out that that wasn't the case, I think my attempts ended with me falling down a pit instead. It'll be nice to finally be able to check out this level! :D

You can also enter this level as a normal level rather than a title screen level so you have lives, HUD, pause screen, etc. You just replace the first level's file with the title screen level's file.
