Ever sincer reading Immortal Hulk, I can't help but have this sad visual in my head of David finally being free at the end of Death of the Incredible Hulk, only to find himself back in the living world after stepping through a green door.
@misterprickly2 ай бұрын
Personally, I would use "Death of" as the jumping off point for an "Immortal HULK" TV series; where there is no Banner... Only HULK.
@substandardeagle47382 ай бұрын
@@misterprickly How would that work though? '77 Hulk is a manifestation of Banner's most base and primal instincts rather than a separate personality, so I don't see how Hulk would carry the show on his own. Plus, in this hypothetical scenario I feel like you'd lose a lot by not including Bixby's Banner.
@misterprickly2 ай бұрын
@@substandardeagle4738 it would cause the character to have to evolve. Like the time Grey HULK became "Joe Fixit". In the months when Joe was in charge, he had a decent job, a private life and a girlfriend; Marlo Chandler. An immortal HULK show, focus on the lead dealing with a world that does not want him. Like MCU HULK, he would have to step up to the challenge or drown in his own ignorance.
@substandardeagle47382 ай бұрын
@@misterprickly Okay I think I get where you're getting at now; combining the Immortal Hulk story with Joe Fixit essentially? Would it also introduce the Grey Hulk or would it still be green Ferrigno Hulk? If it's the former, would you still have Ferrigno in the role or have someone else play Grey Hulk? Would Grey turn into Green Hulk when he loses his temper (like the animated series)? Sorry for all the questions but you've made me curious now.
@misterprickly2 ай бұрын
@substandardeagle4738 I thought about that. I didn't want to have grey hulk in it but I *did* want Lou in it. The idea being, because Banner is dead the hulk is left visually depleted and yet is still the dangerous monstrosity the world knows. Thanks to advances in makeup and CG, we can add some serious body horror elements as well as practical effects that would bring that side of the comics to life.

Fun fact, Kingpins actor also voiced Thor in the Hulk 90’s cartoon series.

That actor who played the psychotic thug on the subway in Trial of the Incredible Hulk could've made a good Bullseye if Daredevil got his own show.

David blamed Blake because he if didn’t bring Thor out, then the first transformation wouldn’t have happened at all. Blake disrupted his experiment, not Thor ( Blake clearly saw that he was in the middle of something when he entered the room. Why not just wait until David was finished? Maggie serves the same purpose as Carolyn did in Married ( an emotional anchor/ possibility for happiness) but without any individual depth. Part of the reason that David continues to see the Hulk as a dangerous monster is because he can’t remember what the Hulk does, and since This Hulk can’t talk, the two of them are incapable of having a conversation and forming an understanding while working together. So everything for him regarding the Hulk comes down to guess work and simply hoping for the best. That kind of setup isn’t reassuring at all. If only Carolyn had lived… This is one area where the comics are superior and more layered. It’s strange that David mentioned that he didn’t have family to the doctor in death. I wonder what happened to his father and sister from the episode “ homecoming “. Did they die or did David simply not want to risk getting them involved in his plight again ?
@jeremyknight99802 ай бұрын
Seeing David understand the Hulk and leading to having some form of control would've been interesting, it always kinda annoyed me that he kept insisting that Hulk was this monster no matter what after helping so many people.
@Dhampir1019802 ай бұрын
Because on the tv show, David always treated the hulk as if he was a disease. So following that narrative through line, it makes sense that he wouldn’t see the value in the power he has. As David said in episode “ Rainbows end”, “No! It possesses ME. And I can’t control it…. Yes, the Hulk saves other people’s lives, but he ruined David’s life.
@jeremyknight99802 ай бұрын
@@Dhampir101980 I can see that, at times I forget that the show is in a world where it isn't crawling with other Marvel characters.
@jameskingman1227Ай бұрын
@@jeremyknight9980 it’s also a little more grounded, while the Hulk might save a life he causes tons of property damage and there’s always a risk he can accidentally hurt someone. It’s more amazing the Hulk actually solves problems. I’ve always attributed the Hulk to being hyper focused on what angered David and after he’s solved the problem he kind of just chills out.

The Thor and Daredevil spinoffs didn’t happen because the network took so long deciding whether or not to order them to series that Actors had already moved on to other projects, and NBC didn’t want to pay more to buy them out of their contracts

I think the video obsession of Fisk is obvious. DD is Blind and Fisk can see. It’s not deep, but maybe what he sees blinds him to reality. Like I say a lot of this is t deep, but I don’t think it’s without merit. It just needed some more thought in the script.

Can’t watch the whole vid because I haven’t seen Death yet, but Eric Allen Kramer is VERY underrated as Thor. Ignoring the changes they made to the character when writing him, he not only looks but perfectly plays comic Thor.

Out of the trilogy, I personally like Returns. It's almost the series, but a version that people think they know instead of the real thing. And also something that can be watched on a boring day for fun. My problem with Trial is a bit basic, no Hulk at the end. With Death: I've never been that impressed, but in recent years I've become more annoyed (I should say angry, but we all know why we shouldn't get angry) about McGee not being there at the end. A true ending would have been something along the lines of The Fugitive series that inspired the series. The hunted and the hunter finally coming face to face. Possibly McGee finally realises somehow that he was responsible for the accident in the pilot episode and tries to help Banner finally "find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him"

I never liked the TV series much due to how lame the villains always were. But I loved seeing Hulk fight and team up with Thor, Daredevil and Kingpin. Though it's odd how in the final battel of Trial Banner doesn't Hulk out and thus isn't part of the final battle of the film. As a kid in my head I imagined it was Black Widow in Death. I don't know why they didn't use Black Widow.
