As a young child aged 9 years I Lived in Sierra Leone for 2 years. My childhood memories are of a very poor Country but the people, well the children I played with were, like me, must happy to play together. I never encountered any hint of racism, it was just not an issue. I was the only white child in a small class of black children taught in an English school. H family settled in the UK in the late 1960’s it came as somewhat of a shock to encounter incidents of racism, sadly from the same ethnic culture. Sadly I now avoid interaction with such individuals to avoid conflict.

Given the amount of litter one finds in the countryside already, I can only say that white visitors seem to need few lessons in discarding their food wrappers, soft drink bottles and cans of lager etc from anybody else. I've lived in the countryside all my life and we have a public footpath crossing our land, and a section of the Icknield Way running alongside a hill we own for some distance. We've also suffered vandalism and yobbos riding trail bikes around on our fields (even cutting a barbed wire fence to access a hill upon which sheep were grazing. That bunch I happened upon when they were exiting the field. whilst out with the dog, so was able to phone home for the chap who works for us to come up and mend the fence. I dread to think what might have happened if this had not been discovered as there is a busy road just a few hundred yards away). All of those, needless to say, have been white people.

I just got in from walking my dog he had his halo like light up collar glowing away and his led ball in his mouth walking along the pavement off lead just in front of me. He walked ahead sniffing and he passed this black geezer who jumped about 2 foot in the air and screamed like a little girl, like he had just seen a ghost. I have been visiting national parks regularly since the 1970s. I live on the border of a national park. I've hiked most of the AT, parts of the PCT, sections of the Rocky Mountains and have visited most of the major parks on extended camping trips on many an occasion. I could count the number of Black Folks I have encountered on one hand. I always figured it just wasn't their thing. Yes and we have a community of those certain people on Canvey Island, it causes me great hilarity when if they are actually taking advantage of living in an area of fields and dog walks, they catch sight of me and my dogs, turn and run away. If caught between 2 of us, they scramble across undergrowth or up steep banks to get away. 😂😂😂😂

My dog is not racist in any way - but I shall rapidly become an extreme racist if anybody tries to tell me that I cannot take my dog for a walk in the countryside in case I upset an African migrant.... This is our countryside, visitors and migrants can take it or leave it! If you don't like dogs then best stay indoors, as we are a nation of animal lovers. and have lots of dogs.

Totally agree , and be careful that they don't harm them. It is under reported that some Africans like a bit of dog on their plates. I have had to pull a few of my colleagues up at work on their cruelty to animals.

I might suggest choice of footwear is one reason some people don't go into the countryside. Nike slides with socks aren't great walking attire and even trainers are only useful if you're not too precious about them getting dirty. Maybe a nice concrete path leading to a McDonald's or Nando's would get folks out into the great outdoors?

Initially I supported Welsh devolution and assembly. Now I can't even be bothered voting in Welsh elections. Labour has such as a stranglehold and Woke to the core. Plaid and the Liberals not much better. Mark Drakeford said a newly arrived immigrant, as soon as he sets foot on Cardiff Central railway station is as much Welsh as those whose family have been here for generations - is an insult to our forebears. I have a few Muslim neighbours - none of whom have said a word to me - but make it uncomfortable for me to walk past with my dogs. I have to give them a wide berth. I understand they consider dogs to be filthy, that the touch of them forces them to do another wudu (ritual cleansing) - but that's not my problem. 'When in Rome' is an apt saying - why should I integrate my behaviour to please them when they are reluctant to do likewise?

@@PoetLouiit’s the little buggers than are the real problem. The big bird eaters have a very limited range whereas the little nasties can be found throughout the urban and suburban areas as well as rural communities. The species varies but modern transport seems to spread them around.

I am a farmer with sheep and sheep dogs here in South West Wales. My dogs bark at everyone who passes the house - guarding is part of their job. I do not miss having Africans around here, I could not work without my dogs and would also miss them very much. There is a Hindu temple a few villages away, the Indians who often walk the lanes around it seem fine with Wales.

​@@davidhull2060my beloved kelpie was the same😂. Their presence made her nervous, and tense, she would not let one approach to close, or touch her, never. She was an absolute love for everything else though, even cats and annoying children❤. Sweet angel.
