I am from Liberia. And original name by the Klao ( Kru)in my tribe means SNOHGLEE. WHICH means.""Inside of God""". And the city now called Monrovia, we call "Trugbor" which mean Along the ATLANTIC Ocean. So we need to go back to our roots to rename our continent ( places etc.) Due to the deep and significance of meanings..

Most if Not All global history, and Culture comes out of Africa. Especially the African influence of Asia. The first people in Asia are African like most of the World. Africans, or shall I say Indigenous melinated people of the Earth have been scattered throughout the world, creating language and culture. It's beautiful, Deep, and Spiritual. We need not look to the West for our being as a People of the Earth, of the Sun, of Nature, but look to ourselves for the answers within. Once we let go of the Fear we have of being who we are, "Black", "Brown", or whatever shade, without excuses , or acceptance for who we are as a people, then we may begin to appreciate the importance of the gifts we have been bestowed.

Actually cowries the medium of exchange weren't collected but brought to West Africa from somwhere. This is an excerpt from the the book " The shell money of the slave trade" by JAN HOGENDORN AND MARION JOHNSON. "The shell money of the slave trade consisted of thousands of millions of little cowrie shells, most of them fished in the lagoons of the far-off Maldive Islands of the Indian Ocean. They came to West Africa in a journey lasting a year or more, shipped initially by Arab merchants who took them to North Africa for export across the Sahara, and later by the European trading companies who carried them to Lisbon, Amsterdam, or London as ballast"

I like the way you related the metaphor of the bottom of the beast and he said they honor the snake, but some do worship. I believe many do worship the snake in his country exactly how you initially interpreted, but he's highly intelligent, knowing that only the Creator should be worshipped, thus cleaning it up.

Snake worship of the voodoo cult is in Benin, which was formerly known as Dahomey meaning The House of Snakes. There are no snake worshipping or worshippers in Ghana from where l come. It is an abomination in Ghana to worship anything but the Most High God. However, there are Stone worshippers of which l am not really knowledgeable. In the Bible Abraham,Isaac and Jacob all prayed to The God of Abraham by raising rocks or stones, and pouring libations on them as they do in Ghana. Eg.Jacob and Bethel the House of God,where he saw a ladder between the heavens and earth with angels ascending and descending upon it. Representation of the Twelve Tribes being by 12 rocks untouched with neither hammer, chisel or any tool. Of Elijah, before confronting the cult of Baal, positioned 12 rocks or stones, representing the 12 tribes of lsrael, before calling on God's intervention. I do not know the connections between the two,but there are tribes in Ghana that perform such things and more like circumcision. Education from the whiteman has made us to overlook our traditions, and it is very pathetic indeed. From now on,l will not leave any question unanswered by consulting the old men who are the custodians of our culture and traditions ! Good day and God bless you !
