Part 2 The rough part of the trail did the high route. Good food and facilities at the Beinglas campsite. #lochlomond #westhighlandway #hikinginscotland

Finally caught up Eddie. I liked the mood on this one - I think the still wet misty grey weather accounted for that. I certainly found it a peaceful walk and I love grey days. I agree fantastic views across the loch but I reckon that tree was framed better than any other view. It had many tentacles like the trail. I'm sounding poetic now. Well, good going. All the best out there. Mark

Well done Eddie! Terrific scenery, I can see why thousands walk it each year. Glad your knees are not complaining too much, and I hope the leg cramps are not nasty after that tricky rocky section. I will keep an eye out for the next one. Take care, Ossie

My knees were great the whole route. England having a National Emergency at the moment, I was sitting out yesterday and had to come in because I was getting cold lol. ATB.

Awesome Eddie, you've got a lot of good footage, just makes you want to do it again but we still have the SUW yeha, nicely filmed brilliant

Thanks Derek! Hopefully be on the SUW... I better take plenty memory cards lol. I always use 64GB cards (4 for WHW) but I get some 128GB... not much difference in price TBH.

Nicely done it was like being there watching the footage. I never get tired of that section and the welcoming campsite at the end of the loch. It came as a surprise to read on their FB page that it's their last season at the farm! End of an era hopefully whoever takes it over can keep up the hospitality! 👍🍺

Yeah it wasn't that rough really, I enjoyed it. That campsite was really busy and the food was great. They were understaffed as was nearly everywhere on the walk. I just ordered an exped MW 3R ULTRA airmat for the SUW. I think good sleep is even more important on a 14 day trip. Its about the same weight as the mat I used on the WHW... not as well insulated but it's the wide rectangle shape. I take a foam mat for back-up/extra insulation anyway.

Inversnaid, Rob Roy made it, he and some Clan members built their houses there before government troops found it and burnt it all down, that's where I'd love to roam, in RR's territory and check out his houses, some ruins actually still remain, one at the bottom slopes of Ben Lomond near a small burn. It's the history and scenery I love not the long walks. Nice one Eddie and cheers.

My knowledge of Scotlands history is poor (so same as most others). Sinclair is very knowledgeable on the subject. I love walking even in cities. I got the dvd of history of Scotland by Neil Oliver so I get round to watching it. ATB

Hi mate just watched 👍 Good to see you filmed a good part of this section as i heard its quite a tough bit. I have never been that far up on that side of Loch Lomond before looks more quieter than the other side. What was the script with Inversnaid no serving food? Must have lost oot in a fortune!!!

It's not that bad TBH but I've been told the low route is much rougher but more scenic. Not enough staff was a running theme on the trail, yes, big income lost.

Well done Eddie, its a brilliant walk i am having a second go at it later in the year, planning on doing the GGW and the WHW in one go i enjoyed it that much the first time. Keep a hold and hopefully we can all have a catch up later in the year. Cape Wrath Trail Next?
