Just love the banjo player/singer - no frills, music talks. Great musician. Respect from wintry Finland

I might be there with you on the view count. Shows you don't have to play fast to be brilliant.

This is a beautiful tune. Big Scioto River is where the Shawnee Indians had their villages in the days before Tippecanoe. Shawnee towns.

@RichStillman3 жыл бұрын
The mylar head is worn through the frosting to the clear base. You're seeing either the color of his shirt behind the banjo, or possibly the color of a cloth that was stuffed inside to reduce the amount of ringing. Absolutely a great version of this song.

What tuning is the banjo player using? I've tried this song with Double-D tuning and with open G tuning and just can't see how he's playing that.
@peha5244 ай бұрын
He put a cloth inside the banjo to dampen the sound, i have heard.

This performance speaks to me, even if somebody thinks the guitar solo is a 'hot mess'. That's probably because I can't go home again. First heard the tune on "Skip Hop & Wobble", Jerry Douglas, Russ Barenburg, Edgar Meyer.
@kelley712 жыл бұрын
That guitar player is having more fun just playing and IMHO that's what it's all about right? great comment.
@kittensquack6695 Жыл бұрын
This is what is called the joy of live music, Daniel. It drives us to heights of performance. I think that while it embarrasses you, it seems to have brought happy smiles to his own bandmates.
@danieljulian4676 Жыл бұрын
@@kittensquack6695 I don't think it's any kind of mess at all. Some comment down the thread from 2018 described it that way. To me, as to you, it's pure joy unleashed.
