We have a packed episode on this week’s ‘Old Man and The Three!’ JJ and Tommy open the show asking and answering some questions they have about possible play-in teams. Then, ESPN’s Tim Legler joins JJ to take a deep look at the Western Conference playoff picture, including if they think the OKC Thunder will be affected by their lack of playoff experience, why the New Orleans Pelicans might be a sleeping giant, if the Los Angeles Clippers can return to their top form, and what to expect from the Sacramento Kings. Then, Miami Heat standout rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. joins share what his first NBA season has been like, his experience playing four years in college at UCLA, what he’s learned in the NBA, and much more. Jaime also sticks around for a draft of fictional movie villains. Let’s go!

3:38 Playoff implications
13:34 Tim Legler
01:14:55 Jaime Jaquez Jr.

JJ and Legs - name a more iconic duo when it comes to talking hoops. No need to fight with corporate BS and push sensational headlines - the modern media gave these guys the opportunity to do their own thing! I know that as a Celtics fan, I’m supposed to hate every Miami player 😂 But I love Jaime’s game. Him and Derrick Lively are in this position where they’re playing elite level ball for their age but not getting the proper recognition because they got drafted at the same time as those two 8 foot aliens.

Top of mind: You guys are the best. Idk if we’ll get to see Denver vs Boston but they seem to be miles above the rest of the league. Denver has a comparatively easy schedule for the next 11 games while OKC has a brutal road trip. If OKC finishes with the #1, SGA will be the legit league MVP, but I expect the Nuggets to finish first in the west. They struggled against both OKC and MIN this season, but the loss of KAT is big. Not sure how he comes back.

I really don't think Miami is in the same stratosphere as last year. Last year they went 12-12 against teams with a top 10 net rating, This year they are 4-18, and that's WITH the win that they just got against the Cavs. I get that everyone wants to throw the stats out the window with Miami, but I happen to think performance against the best teams is pretty important.
