Chase you have a lot of courage showing all of us arm chair mechanics and experts as you learn and gain your mechanical skills . Don't get discouraged by all the negativity- keep up the good work . The new seat looks pretty cool, not to sure about that new tail light for day time , but at night it looks like it would look pretty cool .

Chase I gotta say I'm loving this series... watching you learn as you go is more than half the fun! Your reactions to things are great and reminds me of what I was thinking when I was learning and making obvious mistakes (which are not that obvious at the time).... I'm really looking forward to the rest of this series... watch out... tinkering gets addicting and frustrating sometimes! But nothing better than learning a new skill in your own garage... take care and keep the videos coming!

Since the new tail light is LED, you're not getting the same resistance as you did with the incandescent bulbs which is why the turn signals are hyper blinking because the bike thinks they are burnt out. You either need to wire in resistors into the new turn signals or do what Jake did and replace the turn signal relay.

I stumbled upon your page watching car vlogs. As a gearhead and two wheel junkie, I find your wrecked bike rebuild segment kind of interesting. I have a 2004 Honda cbr 1000RR and a Kawasaki Kz1000 police model. I rebuilt the kz1000 down to seperating the cases. That was my first motorcycle rebuild and the experience was just amazing. My good friend was astonished to find my whole motor pieced out on the ground and the minute new parts arrived I was in the garage installing them. While working on my CBR I had to fix a couple issues on that one since I went down on it in 2007. Around the time of completion I managed to go from both bikes not running to both bikes running on my first start after the rebuild. I wish I would of documented more of it but as of late I have been considering more projects. Maybe this time around I can capture the zen which is motorcycle repair. I will continue to watch your vids on rebuilds.

Maybe thats your issue Chase. Im not sure what you're doing over there but my advice is to get your sh*t together. I have seen this issue with your content for awhile now. I first noticed it with your first rides and your reviews and now there is this. You need to become more organized. This isnt high school anymore Chase you cant just wing your essay and expect it to fly. The sad thing is that you have entire control of your content but yet you continue to half ass it. Do your freaking homework, research, put more time into understanding what it is you're doing before you start it. I myself do most if not all of my own bike maintenance and this can and often does include things i may have never done before but rather then just jumping the gun and winging it, I do my research. I first determine what tools will be needed for that specific job and if I have all the tools I will need. Then I research the "proper" way to preform my specific task which is determined by the manufacturers specifications. It is not until I have a absolutely clear understanding of what it is i will be doing and a plan in place to keep me organized then and only then do i begin. Now i also mentioned this issue being within your first rides and reviews as well and i stand by that statement because i find it to be very true. You do not put in the time to do the research, period. If you're going to give a review of something can you honestly tell me and the rest of your viewers that there is actually any credibility to the things you're saying? Im not sure about you but if im going to spend my time watching a review on a product or a bike im definitely not going to waist my time watching someones first impressions of it because thats what you're doing and its not a review. A review is ones educated evaluation of a product for example. I mean come on dude for real your bike reviews are your first reactions to riding the bike and what it personally feels like to you. How is that a review of the bike? You have no prior knowledge or basic understanding of any of the specifics. In my opinion the more knowledge you can obtain the better. You clam you're good with computers well great so am I. So why dont you take what you know about computers and the internet and use it to expand your knowledge. You dont have to learn things the hard way, someone else has already done that for you. You just need to learn how to take what others have already learned and teach it to yourself in a way that is both efficient and effective. Doing things the wrong way and learning from your mistakes doesn't always lead you to the right answers. After all your plan is to give this bike to another human being. Are you willing to take the responsibility of that life if something should happen to them in direct connection to the work you preformed. So do your freaking research, i want you to drown yourself in it until you're thinking about it in your dreams. If you do this within a couple weeks you should have no more problems you should know every nut and bolt on that bike by the end. Its really not that hard you just need to take your time and take it in strides. I mean i took small engines way back in 8th grade and rebuilt my first motor so if my dumbass can figure it out even back then you shouldn't have any trouble.

To those who complain about Chase not knowing enough... here's my two cents: I like that Chase is just doing it for real, with whatever knowledge he has... He never claimed it was a pro tutorial on rebuilding a bike. It's Chase's own experience bravely attacking a project that is potentially difficult at times, and showing so good problem-solving skills. Chase creates very entertaining vids this way. Thumbs up Chase. Great content!

great video series. just a few tips. spray your kerosene or use less stinky wd-40 on the rag first instead of directly on the wheels. simple green is good to wipe down the nooks and crannies too but, you dont want to get any chemicals on motorcycle tires. also, you can pinch the aluminum piece on a dust mask to conform to your nose and make a better seal so your safety glasses wont fog up. a dust mask doesn't protect againt chemical fumes. take your time and the the bike will be great!

When using the front stand lifting from the lower triple, remove completely or turn the shock pads to the outside of the stand so you don't have interference when removing the front wheel. Only have the pads on the inside if you are lifting from the shocks so the suspension can be unloaded and fully extend.

Chase, I love your videos dude. Your cinematic views are awesome. Suggestion: I didn't think about this until I saw you release the bike and haven't read all your comments but it's not really good on the front fork seals to leave the bike strapped down tight for long periods of time (i.e. more than 24 hours(ish)). The added pressure on the fork seals could potentially blow them out. Keep up the great work dude. It's fun to learn with you. I always wondered how that single-sided swingarm worked.

If you review the last live feed, I asked if the socket was the same size as the breaker bar lug. It was obvious to me even on the video screen that they were different sizes. Klien, snap-on, matco, probably craftsman, all make 1/2" lug to 3/4" lug adapters. Try sears.

Chase - that mask you're wearing, if you pinch the little metal bit on the front it's designed to help the mask conform to the shape of the bridge of your nose. Also instead of helmet cleaner, Degreaser would probably be a better option - just get premix aerosol cans of a light degreaser and you'll be set (or buy a concentrate and a spray bottle and mix it yourself)

7 mins in and i can already see the critics: wheel not tire, you dont need a mask and goggles for something which I bet is essentially dish soap and water, kerosene will only really be dangerous if you sprayed that mist directly over a flame (throw a match into a cup of it and it will go out). I think sometimes these might be deliberate mistakes? anyhow, I like the vids and your open to learning so if your not too offended by us you'll get better..

For anyone trying to learn. Dont pu't your bike in gear when loosening the axle. Put a piece of timber or some thick plastic thrugh the rim and swing arm to stop it from moving (having someone stand on the brake can also work but just chuck something in there anyway, less stress seems good). Possibly with a cloth wrapped around it to prevent marks on the rim. Also breaker bars are life. Use them for your oil sump plug and you will never round a bolt

Hey Chase, did you check to see if the forks were straight in the triple tree? I been following your video series on this and I don't remember seeing you check it. You can check it pretty easily with the front wheel off. lay a piece of glass across the inner fork tubes and see if the glass lays flat. if it rocks back and forth, you'll need to take the twist out of the triple tree.... or your forks are bent.
