THE WHITE CROW, geregisseerd door Ralph Fiennes, vertelt het waargebeurde verhaal van Rudolf Noerejev, een unieke danser die de wereld van ballet voorgoed veranderde.
We zien hoe Noerejevs jeugd werd getekend door armoede in de Sovjet-stad Ufa en zijn opkomst als danser in Leningrad. Wanneer hij in het begin van de jaren ’60 vlucht naar Parijs, op dat moment het epicentrum van de Westerse cultuur, wordt hij nauwlettend in de gaten gehouden door KGB-agenten wat leidt tot een ijzingwekkende confrontatie op de luchthaven van Le Bourget.
