Asus ran out of money after painting the pci-e slots white so they left the dram slots black on the X870-A. Thankfully Gigabyte still had some leftover money to make a fully white MB.

What surprised me is there are only two sata ports , I know the sata technology is fading away but when we upgrade a pc we carry forward our old Hard disk which we have data of years , Atleast they should have 4 of them .

Only 2 SATA ports is a deal breaker for me. I know it's a natural progression to move to the latest technology and phase out the old stuff, but I need more than 2 SATA ports because I'm a storage-monger. I have perfectly good 3.5 and 2.5 hard drives and no reason to lose them just because "new motherboard." Again, with the crappy audio connectors on new boards.. Sad.

I'm currently using the x670e-a version of this mobo...if the x870 has the same 2.5g lan (I225-V) it will be horrendous. everything about the board is perfect EXCEPT the 2.5gbe LAN port. constant disconnects even when i switched to a UDM-pro. doesn't matter if jumbo frames is on or off or if i update lan drivers.. i even am using a static ip for this pc and it continually drops lan port recognition at least once a day. my next step is to just get a 10bge nic for my unifi 10bge switch.

2 expansion slots on an extended atx is a fugging joke . 2-4 sata ports also . I get it there are 4 pci-e nvme slots , but goddam this high end market is maybe 10% or pc sales . Furthermore people who need more than 2 nvme drives are maybe 10% of the 10 PERCENT . And i am really generous here , if you check steam hardware survey , the numbers are even lower . SO my question is who are they making these boards for ?? . They could save an easy 50 bucks (maybe even 100) if they'd give us what we need and use . For the presented features a "skinny ATX" is more than enough , and at a cost of absolutely no more than 200€ . Unfortunately this is the trend , all board makers make boards with less expansion slots . I get it , only a few people need more than 2 ports , but then drop the cost . ps: Can't wait to see them run . From the description "Could these be the boards you put in your new white Ryzen 9000 System?" - NO . At this point i'm questioning the very nature of a 9000 series build . I might go with the 7900x3d . The big amd hype turned out to be a flop , as it usually does. Now... i'm not happy because of this but if i don't get enough improvement i won't upgrade. I game on 4k . Anything more than 120fps is irrelevant to me , and i get by with 60-90fps just fine . Currently i use a 3900X , with a 6800XT . Perhaps i'll wait till 9900X3D , remains to be seen . To be more precise i don't have a valid reason to upgrade regardless of 9th series performance , i just want to, because it's a hobby for me and the computer is getting old , soon going into 5 years .

2 Sata connectors and no solid pins 24 connectors? LoooooooooooL Not even gonna mention the lack of pci-e 16x slots or audio connectors. What are you paying for???? When are we going to make a statement that nvme we only want 1 and the rest give us pcie 16x slots and sata and have a separate single skew with 5 nvmes like a pro art.
@espi8997Ай бұрын
i couldnt agree more. 2 sata ports is a joke and the pcie 5.0 nvme obsession is absurd (specially when there are not enought lanes on the platform). I think asrock mobos just have 1 PCIE 5.0 and several PCIE 4.0 ones without any kind of lane sharing with the gpu. Hope to check that in the diagram they include in the Manual. Sadly this is not ready yet.
