The term squeezebox (also squeeze box, squeeze-box) is a colloquial expression referring to any musical instrument of the general class of hand-held bellows-driven free reed aerophones such as the accordion and the concertina. The term is so applied because such instruments are generally in the shape of a rectangular prism or box, and the bellows is operated by squeezing in and drawing out. There is a double meaning, of course!!!
@bostonwhofan2 жыл бұрын
There's an episode of "That 70's Show" where the teens are heading to a concert by The Who that night. The mother asks what type of music does The Who play. So they started playing a tape of Squeeze Box. At first Mom thought it sounded like a nice pleasant song......until it got to the "in and out, and in and out, and in and out" part and then she got a horrified look on her face and shrieked "OH MY GOD!"🤣

Even as a kid, I knew there were "naughty" implications in the lyrics to this tune. But... a squeeze box 🪗 is a musical instrument that's played at chest level, very similar to an accordion. Mama's always right, but I also think Brad has something there too. ✌️

Last comment prolly. AC/DC everybody goes over the edge with Angus, awesome energy, no one gives a thought to some serious energy unseen in his brother and massive creator of the music. The rhythm guitar in the back. As much energy flowing but never noticed. He is zoned out while in his energy level. Hope he is enjoying the WALK ON. There's a channel "Haksul" And check out some Malcolm Young isolated, like "Jailbreak" Malcolm plays clean, an guitar, a patchcord and an amp. He is my hero. WHen a guy asked me to learn guitar so I could play rhythm this is the guy. I don't play lead, much. I think Malcolm was the madness or inspiration to many lyrics.

Both of Pete Townshend's (Guitarist for the Who) were professional musicians... This was (initially) a song written by him about his childhood recollections of their neighborhood block parties in Acton, West London, as they were some of his happiest in an otherwise very volatile home life.... But he does admit as composing continued, it did turn into a double entendre', toss-away song he never thought would be a hit. He also claims it was among his mother's favorite Who tunes and that she DID get the joke and loved it!!
