The Who - Young Man Blues (Isle Of Wight 1970) 3 CAMERA VIEW

Multi-cam view of Young Man Blues. Original footage grabbed from Historic Films (if the watermark wasn't obvious enough) however, it was a bit of a mess. For a start, the full 2 hours of footage had NO AUDIO. So I had to go through all the footage and match the correct audio to it. The footage includes only a few songs from the show, but from multiple angles. It does include some pretty cool bits of film though, like the second verse of Shakin' All Over which wasn't in the final video release. Issue number two. The video was cropped AND in the wrong aspect ratio (4:3) resulting in the footage being stretched thin. I fixed the aspect ratio which is in (16:10 - 1920x1200). I thought it would be a standard (16:9) but that wasn't the case. Finally, the footage was also in a low resolution (360p) and pretty pixelated. So I have gone through the painstakingly slow process of A.I. upscaling all the footage to make it look a lot closer to the official releases quality. Of course this still has the watermark/timecodes on the screen but this is as good as it's going to possibly get so I hope you all enjoy this unique view of the The Who at the Isle Of Wight.

The Who live in 1970 is my all time second favorite era for any band since hearing Live at Leeds for the first time in 1977. The coolest thing about this 3 camera footage is seeing more John E. (still wish they filmed him more) and more angles on Keith. Thank you FullConcerts100 for all of your painstaking effort!

I read Pete as commenting that Keith took something that he shouldn't have fr this show. There are moments when I think I hear him being a little off his normal game, but if he was super high, he sure handled it well.

The only band that I have ever seen from any era... that seems like they are going to just fly off of the fucking stage and into the stratosphere; and this isn't the only classic era Who show in which it seems that they are just gonna literally levitate due to the energy, power & passion of the music & aura of the players... Fucking amazing... no band can touch classic Who live... No one comes within shouting distance of The Who live!!

I love The Who so much. It’s great that They have 3 such charismatic figures in their live performances but the downside is that in so many videos that were captures, we get such a limited view of the greatest bass player ever! I wish we had more Entwistle!!!

When I was a kid the consensus was "The Who, Live at Leeds" was the greatest rock concert of all. When I entered my 20s I bought "The Isle of Wight," and I found that was better. I don't think those who said LAL were wrong, I just don't think they had access at that time to "The Isle of Wight.'

IOW more raw... Leeds is a tight, rip yer fucking head off performance! The only part of IOW that is close to the power of the entire Leeds show... is Pete's power chording on this song. I mean incredibly powerful, but... Gotta take Leeds in its entirety. There's a muddiness to the sound here that I don't like. I have to really fuck with my eq to get Entwistle's bass trebly and clear across all channels like it should be...

It was the second time I witnessed The Who giving it large. The first was at Fairfield Hall, Croydon, must’ve been circa ‘65. Massive difference of scale. I don’t remember everything about it because… it was the ‘60s. Na a mean, man.

Monty, it appears that they took down your complete Isle Of Wight video. Is it available anywhere else? You did such a great job on it and it’s very sad to see it go!

at the moment it's not anywhere. I need to check if I even have that original file anymore. I do plan on doing a 4K re-edit of the whole show at some point this year. Similar to what I did with London Coliseum. Will use only correct camera angles, re-synced up and at the correct 25fps frame rate. But it's a huge job so I don't wanna put a time line on it. All I can say is the first song is done. About the original single cam video, I don't think it will be uploadable on youtube anyway. Videos with multiple songs seem to always get taken down rather than the single song videos, that seem safer.
