Only band I know of where the bass, drums, and guitar all played lead at the same time

That's a reason that Roger said, he had to be part of the visual and sonic purpose - swinging his mike and catching it, his powerful voice. Pete was jumping and swinging, and rocking. Keith would pound, and jest, and drive the sound. John stood, yet his Bass was like a Jet-plane in sound, with his quick fingers. I only saw The Who once, the Quadrophenia tour, in Chicago, October 1996 -awesome, yet have many filmed concerts on disc, and all albums - my 2nd favorite Rock Band.

Truth. And if you ask me, the Who I came to know and loved ceased to exist when Keith Moon died. Kenny Jones did all right, but the manic energy just wasn’t there. And he died on my 17th birthday. That sucked out loud.

This is the definition of about 6 minutes of pure unadulterated rock the way it was meant to be with each member at the top of his game and rare instance where Pete's lead is as audible as the Ox's bass. Very few bands w/ just 4 members have produced such a barrage of melodic sonic output considering it was at the early era of heavy rock. Would have loved to be enlightened to these boys when i was in kindergarden at the time.

Keith is like a bit jet airplane taking off here, they are all in top form. Great song, whole show is on fire, nothing like it really. Saw this tour about a month before at Tanglewood, Lenox, MA, USA (July 7th), that performance is also on KZbin and worth checking out. Pete said it was his favorite live performance of Tommy. I was 14 years old and in the 3rd row center, made a huge impression! Had seen them the previous summer there as well, just before Woodstock, but the 1970 tour was really quite the thing.
