Hey Ian - thank you much bud, that's so kind of you. Would you have been in your early teens when this came out? Exactly the right age for this song to sink it's hooks into you... ;) The year is going well so far - we did get a turn on the covid machine early on, but you can hardly blame the year for that. However, you certainly can blame Mancunian mouth-breathing wedding guests... so that got us through the worst of it. Well, that and the booster ;)

My Mrs. would totally agree with you about the Mancunian issue - she's from Liverpool LOL! (You know what "they" say though: "You live and learn - or you don't live long!")

Every time I went to 'home' tonight, KZbin kept offering me this video.That's maybe a dozens times. I don't know why; I don't know the band, I don't listen to The Waterboys or acoustic covers of anything on here. I mainly watch politics or history videos. Eventually, I clicked on it because I thought it must keep popping up for a reason. I was right. The reason was because it's superb. As a bit of a guitar picker myself, I can see your playing isn't especially complex and I'm so glad. Flashy pickers don't impress me much, doing what's right for the song does. And you did exactly what was needed to allow the beauty of your voices to carry the tune. When I saw the uke I thought, "Oh no, here we go, another ukulele destruction of a good song". But no, it fitted perfectly. Thankyou both for your lovely music and for reminding me about a great, great song.
