The whole quarry’s stopped ! / Oil leaking / DX300LC-7 down !

Join me for a day ! A plant mechanic in the north of the England, servicing and repairing mainly Develon & Mecalac construction equipment on building sites, quarries and forestry. In this episode I’ll be in a Quarry for the day changing out broken door catches damaged bonnets ohh and the whole place comes to a stop because the DX300 has a leak !

Ah that welding fix on that pipe was a great effort….Dont overdo the sugar and simple carbs. You really need ‘complex’ carbs to feel fuller for longer our kid. Put a boiled egg in your box 👍👍

A busy day Ali .that's a bit of an issue with no parts available in this country..did not have a lot of choice but to get it welded up .. Good job you got a hand with that back door .. Don't forget to order that new part for the new back door . 👍👍👍👍👍

Used to work for a plant hire firm at BP salt end near Hull and you couldn't do hardly any thing on site, used to drag small plant off site and repair. Health and safety gone mad !!

Cheers Ali, used to do a lot of welding on things like that pump elbow, should have ran it up and dead ended the pump, it’s a common area for leaks. Good job on the shovel Grille, looks tidy. Typical Plant work weather. All the best for now.

We look after their other gear in there, crushers & screeners etc. Grand bunch of lads, hope to catch up with you in there some time👍

Now that was something different al, great video chap. Again love the plastic bag idea......IV not had chance to try it yet...... IV been mainly been out on electric faults and low loader work..... Mixed work loads for us....all or nothing, but most call outs have been electric systems failing, guess cold damp air ant helping.

Ohh I think I’ve got a damp plug at the moment I’ve got a shovel mis behaving intermittently going to get a look at it tomorrow 🤞

Your right about chasing cracks Ali, spent time on that, that being a supply pipe with a bit of pressure from tank valve & I know it’s not leaking, but could it have been down to the O-ring, just I noted the LHS bolt you marked not sitting fully around flange, given that the O-ring sits inside the bolts, if O-ring marked it would pour through the bolt, hard to spot hydraulic oil leaking from source at times. Jobs like that grill, you need a lite wait small tarpaulin over it, would have kept you drier, 👍

One of life’s mysteries I guess 😂 it’s fixed and it’s working one less thing to worry about 😅 I didn’t notice I was getting wet until it eventually seeped through my hat 😂😂

Great vlog Ali, thanks again. Right before you said "I do like that digger" I mentioned to the wife how much of a looker it was ...... Don't think I've improved my chances of a Christmas kiss from the Mrs there but hey ho 😂 Baxenden car Breakers have a 225 which is an impressive machine especially considering all the stick it gets in their yard but that 300 was something else. Stay well 👌🏻

Cheers Alastair that 300 might be my favourite machine on my patch it’s been very well behaved and well looked after by its driver 👌 that 225 of theirs is an example of how bomb proof those machines are 🤛

Many times I've unboxed a part that some a-hole either robbed pieces from and returned the part or stole the whole part and returned the defective used one. Fancy tape job on the box and nobody knew
