A tip for the cactus. Get yourself a tree trimming pole saw so you can keep hands/arms/legs away from the pointy bits and cut them off as low as you can to the base. Once you get the big pieces cut, work your way to the base, then you can easily dig them up if ya need to. Side benefit is that you can use the saw to trim that tree in front of the back door too.

I helped a friend do the same thing. We took about 50 or more partial gallons of oil base paint and mixed it all in a large plastic 55 gallon drum. Then he opened up another gararage and pulled out even more. We ended up with about 50 or so gallons of paint mixed to a nice grayish color. He then put a lid on it with a hole in it and a paint sprayer with an extension tube and we sprayed a building, porch and everything else. After we were done we did it all over again until the paint was gone. It was quite warm that day so it dried mostly by the time we started over again! Still looks good as far as I know about 15 years later.

with any of the broad leaf or prickly pear style cactus, the easiest way to trim them is to break off the cactus at the leafjoin. Speaking from my own personal screw ups, I pass on to you that your cooler water supply line may freeze and split open unless you disconnect and make sure it is clear of standing water before winter. That little round loop won't most likely drain so you might want to consider blowing the line dry instead of just disconnecting and relying on gravity do empty the tube. 😉 I'll check back with you next May or June when you fire up your coolers again and see how you made out.

You get bonus points for leaving a drip loop in the tubing. P.S.- Don't wear sandals in areas of cactus. P.P.S. In cactus areas always carry splinter tweezers and bandages, and disinfectant. Oh, and a magnifying glass and a pen light.. A fanny pouch is great for carrying first aid supplies. It doesn't look "cool" but neither does trying to hop around to get home to remove the cactus spines.(I learned that really quick). Looking forward to your next adventure.
