Fun fact: I bought the Wii U during the last years of its lifespan (November 2015). I do think this console was a lot of fun to play many fun games like 3D World, MK8, NSMBU, Smash Bros, and Splatoon. Even when the Switch came out, I still played the Wii U before I got the Switch late in its lifespan. I’ll always remember the Wii U no matter who forgets it ✊.

One thing I really love about the Wii U is that combining displays between the Gamepad and the TV-Screen, could provide for the closest illusion to really having a TV-Console version of the Dual-Screen feature! I wish that the Nintendo Switch had that too.

To be honest, I wanted a Wii U when I was younger, but even then, it was obsolete. I can't complain, though, because I have two obsolete consoles as of this year, a Wii and a 3DS (the 3DS went obsolete a few months ago).

Well, the 3DS still has some games online servers up and the Wii has a lot of games with custom servers up, plus Mario Kart Midnight also launched recently for MKWii so I don't know if I would call them truly obsolete as of now

The Wii U can be used as a portable Wii. Just find an outlet to plug it in, put the Wii U Gamepad on a stand, use your Wii Remote to point at the Wii U Gamepad, insert a Wii or Wii U game, and voila! You have yourself a portable Wii/Wii U. Just make sure you bring the both Wii U Gamepad and console AC adapters with you.

You actually CAN sync two gamepads still! It’s under a homebrew app but it splits the frame rate between both of them. The proof of concept was for a simple space game but it works. It’s fun for as fun as the simple game was.

The only reason I didn't like the Wii U is that every time I got a new game, it would take FOREVER to do this update thing, or whatever it was doing, all I know is that it made this annoying sound for nearly an hour before I actually got to play the game. Not sure if it was like this for anyone else. The Wii was much better in my opinion, but the Wii U will always have a special place in my heart.

I still can't believe I ever wanted to get this console back when I was a kid while it was still selling. I was mainly interested with the new games that were released such as Super Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, and (not kidding) Mario Party 10. But as of now, I'm glad I didn't ask my parents to get me this console since they already got me the Wii in 2011 and I still enjoyed the games I played from that old console. Again, I have no idea why I was so interested of getting the Wii U. Maybe I've gone mad and didn't see it clearly 🤦‍♂️
