I'm pretty sure its because Wilcox is contracted out to the military. The only way were able to get hands on one is through surplus. At that point Wilcox aren't the ones setting the prices we see. I wish Wilcox would sell directly to civilians but I cant expect them to pass up on whatever the military is paying them. Theres some knockoffs on amazon that are functionally identical & a sixth of the price of a genuine used mount.

Yup just got a identical one on eBay for 100$ and it came in a nice box like the trijicon optics

"...preferred.." with no specifics, odd. a little presumptive. what's the profit margin on this, 200% or is it more? is this made state side, do you source it from all over the world or is just china? nobody thought this was overengineered at any point? you buy this to not damage your nods or hurt yourself, but that could all by bypassed by raising your nods on rhino mount at a moments notice... weird.

These are the same jokers that said MREs were safe and healthy to eat every day. The same group that says our ballistic plates during all of GWOT were safe. They approve the garbage used by service members built by the lowest bidder. Their opinion means nothing to the end user, only bureaucrats. These are the same pieces of trash that said we needed malaria pills everyday and then over a decade later found out they gave us all the wrong medicine for a different strain of the disease. Dumb
