The Wild Pacific - Gigantic Ocean Teeming With Life | Ocean Documentary
Watch 'Adventure Ocean Quest: Discovering Another World' here: • Adventure Ocean Quest:...
The Pacific Ocean is the largest and deepest ocean on earth, bordering all other oceans. The Pacific Coast stretches across New Zealand, Australia, East Asia and the west coast of North and South America.
On November 28, 1520, Ferdinand Magellan, coming from the Strait of Magellan, reached the Pacific Ocean on his circumnavigation of the world. He named it Mar Pacifico (Portuguese & Spanish for Peaceful Sea) because the storms that had accompanied him until then subsided. Despite this name, the Pacific also experiences violent storms and hurricanes.
The Pacific Ocean lies between the Arctic to the north, North America to the northeast, Central America to the east, South America to the southeast, Antarctica to the south, Australia to the southwest, Oceania to the west, and Asia to the northwest. In the north it borders on the Arctic Ocean and in the southwest on the Indian Ocean and in the south on the Southern Ocean, which lies south of the 60th parallel.
The Pacific Pole of Inaccessibility (Point Nemo), the point furthest from the mainland and islands, is located in the South Pacific between New Zealand and Chile.

The stats on the Pacific Ocean never fail to amaze: It covers more than 30% of the earth's surface. It is so large it is bigger than the landmass of all the world's continents combined! The Pacific Ocean is also the deepest ocean. It has extremely deep trenches including The Challenger Deep in the Mariana Trench. The sharks, whales, seabirds, other fish astound even more. Hope you enjoy this one.

That part in the Baja with the mother whales showing their babies to the humans and the mother herself interacting with the humans, man, that was sure neat. I'd adore such a thing. Whales are one of those animals where, if you get the chance, and look into their eyes, it's like looking into eternity and eternity's looking back.

It sure is! My dream would be a whale watching trip. It's amazing that even after humans hunted them almost to extinction, they still enjoy interacting with us.

Excellent documentary. I’ve gotten lots of data and interesting subjects to read about. I cannot tell what was more surprising: if the cactus flower appearing at night and the bats sucking on it, a bat eating an scorpion, dolphins getting an image like in 3D due to their ears, manta’s biggest brain and being able to look at themselves like in a mirror. You name it. Its impressive how humans can make so many things out of a sardine, even bombs. My mind. There was only a detail a little disturbing. It was the music when speaking about gray whales getting close to the boats with calf. It nterferes a little bit with details being told. So interesting from the very beginning. A long migration trough the vast Pacific ocean. Thanks a million.

Excellent documentary and liked how you reported which species are either in danger of and or going extinct. I grew up in Hawai’i and many years ago I had the privilage out swimming by myself to swim with a young manta … we swam in circles up and down the depths I will never forget that sweetest experience! But had no idea they are rapidly going extinct! We humans have made a shocking mess of our home Earth. Anyways, hope there will be additional documentaries added onto this one, as you just got started.

Genesis 1:20-28 Then God said: “Let the waters swarm with living creatures, and let flying creatures fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” 21 And God created the great sea creatures and all living creatures that move and swarm in the waters according to their kinds and every winged flying creature according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 With that God blessed them, saying: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the waters of the sea, and let the flying creatures become many in the earth.” 23 And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day. 24 Then God said: “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds, domestic animals and creeping animals and wild animals of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so. 25 And God went on to make the wild animals of the earth according to their kinds and the domestic animals according to their kinds and all the creeping animals of the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good. 26 Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, and let them have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and the domestic animals and all the earth and every creeping animal that is moving on the earth.” 27 And God went on to create the man in his image, in God’s image he created him; male and female he created them. 28 Further, God blessed them, and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many, fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving on the earth
