My personal favorite was a clause from Philippe Coutinho's transfer to Barcelona. If he ever won the Champions League while under contract there, Barca would have to pay Liverpool 5 million Euros. While Barcelona didn't win the Champions League during that period, Coutinho did so while on loan at Bayern Munich. That was during the season where Bayern beat Barca 8-2 in quarter finals. Coutinho scored 2 goals and assisted 1 during that match😂😂😂

David Beckham had the wildest contract clause in football history. The clause allowed Beckham to purchase the rights to a new MLS team for a set fee of €25 million. At the time, the most recent team that joined paid €10 million. However, when he used this clause to enter Inter Miami, it was worth €250 million. He basically earned €225 million with this clause. In 2025 a new team will join again (San Diego) who will pay €500 million.

The Ballon d'Or clause has and never will be crazy! It's very plausible for a player's value to rise from the award. And in no way that a player would win the award without contributing tremendously to the team. It's just that the clause happened to be for Martial. The absurdity disappears when we think about it for the real Ballon D'Or contenders.

It’s hilarious that Wenger keeps getting shit for the £1. The release clause means if a team hits that valuation, you must allow hthe player to negotiate terms. Arsenal met the clause and Liverpool came back and said you must exceed it, which isn’t what a release clause is. So arsenal exceeded it. Liverpool violated the terms of the Suarez contract by not allowing him to negotiate terms with arsenal but it’s wenger sho is at fault? If someone meets Bellinghams €871 million clause, Real have to let him negotiate terms. It is why it is set in the player contract. Apparently arsenal are at fault for Liverpool violating a contract.
