I'm going to say what I always say when going through the Dragon Roost Cavern: "VALOO HAS EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA!" Tingle tingle, kooloo Lympa! It's always a treat to see Tingle for me. Never knew about that poor guy on Windfall Island who had his daughter Maggie kidnapped as one of the victims. Komali sounds younger than he did in the first dub of Wind Waker, but his ennui and fear were still palpable here. Medli is one of my favorite characters in the whole Zelda franchise, so thank you Krysdoll for doing such a great job with her voice.

*Link’s Journal: Day 1 Continued* So, Aryll was… kind enough to remind me that today was, in fact, my 16th birthday. Normally, that means I have to wear a green outfit to look like a palm tree all day and learn swordplay from Old Man Orca so that I can emulate the mythical “Hero of Time,” or something like that. But when I went to see Grandma to get it over with, she handed me… nothing. She looked me in the eye, held out her empty hands to me, said she “made a special outfit out of a special fabric that only honest people can see,” and gave a quick wink. She taught me that little mind trick years ago to catch chronic liars in the act (Liars would comment on the object’s appearance while honest people just point out that there’s nothing there). I took the “clothes” from her while she explained the actual reasons why Outset Island does this rite of passage. She then changed the subject to my birthday party, which she’s inviting the whole island to, and told me to get Aryll to help her. All I could muster in the moment was a simple “Thanks, Grandma,” before going out the door. I didn’t want her seeing the tears that were forming in my eyes. I found Aryll still at the Lookout tower, right where I left her. I told her that Grandma wanted to see her, but before Aryll left, she gave me her telescope as a birthday gift (just for today, of course) and had me test it out to see how I liked it. Since he’d just arrived, I decided to use the postman as a reference to tune the telescope, only for him to spot something in the sky above him and panic. Aryll saw it too, and pointed me towards a giant bird, easily big enough to crush the lookout tower and the pier simply by landing on it. What Aryll didn’t initially see was that the bird was carrying a person in its talons, and that said person seemed to be in league with a band of pirates who showed up and started firing on the bird, causing it to drop its prisoner… right in the forest at the summit of Outset Island… I managed to borrow a sword from Orca to defend myself in the forest (after a brief lesson in swordplay so I won’t cut my own feet off) and set off to find the mysterious falling pirate and hopefully get her off my island before the rest of the crew make landfall. I found her quickly (Her scarf got caught on a tree branch), but before I could get to her, a couple of creatures I can only describe as “scrawny bipedal pigs” dropped out of the sky and started attacking. I managed to take them out fairly quickly, but the commotion woke up the hanging castaway, who promptly panicked until the branch supporting her broke and sent her to the ground. Apparently, the pirates had already landed by the time I got to the forests, as one of them arrived not long after the mystery girl landed on terra firma. She seemed rather anxious to get off Outset Island and hunt down the bird that took her earlier (Her tone makes me think she’s high up in their chain of command), which I’m all for as long as they leave before Aryll gets any ideas of joining them in search of adventure on the high seas. Gods know she’s not ready for anything like that, regardless of this specific circumstance. *Link’s Journal: Day 2* I had to have that stupid thought, didn’t I? If those damn pirates hadn’t fired on the bird when they did, if that bitch Tetra hadn’t landed safely in a tree on the top of Outset Island’s mountain, then Aryll and I would still be home safe. But no, instead, the pirate crew of the ship who’s name I can’t pronounce had to land on _my island,_ and make themselves a huge target for everyone to see. Now Aryll’s been taken by the bird _by mistake_ I got myself stuck on the pirates’ ship so I could get to Aryll’s _prison,_ which is an _island-sized death trap,_ and the breakout didn’t even work, so now I’m basically marooned on an island who knows how far away from anyone! But I’m getting ahead of myself here, I just needed to vent my frustrations for a bit. As you just read, yes, Aryll has been kidnapped by the bird that the pirates were attacking over Outset Island. Needless to say, I was pissed about the whole thing, but luckily the postman was still there, and he was able to calmly convince Tetra (Our mysterious falling pirate girl, and the ship’s captain) to let me tag along on her hunt for the bird. He even gave us an idea of where it might be, the ominously named Forsaken Fortress. But Tetra _still_ tried to get me to not go, saying I needed a shield for protection, despite me doing just fine without one in the forest. I know just where to get one. I’ll be coming home soon, Grandma, and I’m bringing Aryll home with me. When we come back (Not if, when), we’re gonna have that party. Until then, try not to worry about me too much… As I figured, the pirates are cold and ruthless. Mostly. Tetra had me immediately become part of the crew to “earn my spot on the ship,” and had me train with the previous new guy, Niko. Like everyone else on board, he had a high and mighty attitude towards me, right up until we got to the starting obstacle course (which he claims took him a full year to clear). He was so confident in his time that he said he’d give me a reward for doing it faster than him. I got it in less than a minute, it was really simple. In a rush to think of something, Niko gave me a leather satchel as my reward. Although the look on his face when I finished would’ve been rewarding enough for me, I figured I’d get _something_ from my time there. I’d just finished fitting the satchel over my shoulder when Tetra announced that we’d gotten to the Forsaken Fortress. Of course, the place is surrounded by stone walls with bright spotlights constantly scanning the borders, but there was no mistake that Aryll was there, and still alive judging by the number of seagulls gathered by one of the small windows. While I was busy thinking of ways to sneak into the fortress, Tetra got the bright idea to launch me with a catapult, from the ship all the way to the fortress, and into that tiny window that I’d estimate wasn’t much bigger than me. Needless to say, I had very little confidence it would work, and that proved true when I crashed into the wall _next to_ the window, lost my sword high up the tower, and landed down at the bottom in a pool of water I was scouting as an entrance anyway. Without my sword, I was forced to move through the entire fortress while holding a barrel over my head so I wouldn’t get caught by any of the numerous guards. Thanks to the barrel, though, I was able to steal a map for the fortress and use it to find the room that Aryll was in. But I still needed to find my sword, so I looked around every nook and cranny I could for it, which actually netted me a couple of strange treasures along the way. Turns out my sword landed right in front of the door leading to Aryll, and the beastie guarding said door. What a pain. When I opened the door, I took every care to stay hidden, but that damn bird managed to find me. It plucked me up in its beak and flew up out of the tower. But instead of just eating me there, it seemed to… present me… to a gargantuan man with dark skin and fiery hair. Without a word, he gestured towards the sea, and the bird flung me out into the horizon. The next morning, I found myself washed up on the shore of an unfamiliar island, with no sign of the Forsaken Fortress or Tetra’s pirates anywhere. But that means little to me right now. What matters is that I’m still alive, I still have my equipment, and if all goes well I just might have a way to get off this rock. Just hold on a bit longer, Aryll. I’m coming to save you.

Not a 16 year old, there are beta desings for wind waker and also hyrule warriors art that depicts adult Toon Link, so this Link isn't 16, maybe 12-13 but not more.

@@emmamiller. Yeah, I admit my writing can get a bit long, but I also want to get as much of the story in as I can while giving Link a solid characterization. YMMV but I’m ultimately doing this because I want to. Also, you’re gonna be seeing these in each part of the dub as they come out (I also wrote for ZU’s MM dub and SS redub if you’re interested).

@@AlexxxMYLSince2013 Admittedly, I’m taking a bit of creative license with Link (I have in each of my journals, actually), mainly because I wanted to emphasize the inevitable comparisons between the Hero of Winds and the Hero of Time made by the characters in the story. Also, beta designs are, by their nature, not the be-all-end-all of depictions, so the concept art of a slowly aging Hero of Winds doesn’t play into my interpretation of him. Plus, what art of Hyrule Warriors shows an adult Toon Link, because I’m completely unaware of that.

You guys did an amazing job with this next chapter 😁! I was blown away by both the editing and the performances. It really helped make this project feel even more cinematic. I would first like to give most of my praise towards production on the music end of this video. I love the choices made for the music here, as it contributed to the whole cinematic feel 🎶. Besides liking the version of the Windfall Island theme that you chose, I really loved the songs you chose for Dragon Roost Island, XD. Especially the track you borrowed from BOTW of the night time theme of Rito Village. It really made the scenes of meeting the Rito Chieftain and Komali feel serious and compelling, fitting given the situation the Rito were in 😉. But what I really love most of all and cannot wait to hear again, is the vocals that were used for the songs conducted by the Wind Waker 😄. It was just so breathtaking and grand to hear, ingenious choice on your part 😁. You guys really did a superb job in the music department. As for the voice acting, I really loved how you gave the residents of Windfall Island so much personality 😊. It really helps make the community stand out and feel more lively. Makes me want to see more of them, like the Elvis look-alike 😂. My favorite one out of all of them would probably be Salvatore. Joshua Cookingham gave a stellar performance for the short time he had by giving all of those different vocals tones so quickly. He's quite the vocal talent just by that one small scene alone, lol. The kids on the Island were also well done as well. I liked how each of their voice actors made them all mean as hell while still retaining the belief that these are children 😆. They were very convincing, and hilariously rude too👌. Tingle's voice was absolutely hilarious 😂. Love the pizzazz Lucaricross gave to him in terms of his goofiness. The ad-libbing was great as well. That was just priceless, lol. Same goes for Caroline keeping up her work as Link, I loved the vocal tones she used during his interaction with the King of Red Lions, XD. John Doyle as the King himself is probably my favorite voice for the character 😁. Much like with Link and Aryll's grandma, he sounds so convincingly like an elder, but is so enticngly hearty with his behavior, which is fitting for the role. Props to him for endearing me more to his majesty, as well as balancing out his boisterous mannerisms with his more grounded side. Speaking of groundedness, Oliver Smith did a great job voicing the Rito Chieftain too. The tone he used for the Chief gave him quite the stoic but humble demeanor about him. I truly hung off every word he said, convincing me of the dire circumstances the Rito were facing. Makes me want to know more about him. Quill was equally as serious but more down-to-earth than the Chieftain thanks to Brandon's calm vocal performance 🙂. Love his character 😁. I especially live the vocal effects given to Valoo. I don't know if that was there from in game, but it made him sound even more mighty, and even intimidating. Props to Lance Hall voicing this cartoonish but ancient dragon. And lastly, there's Medli and Komali. Krystal Quezada sounded great as Medli 😊. She really showed how much Medli cares about her duties as an attendant to Valoo, giving her this air of responsibility while adding some spunk to her too. A nice job on her end, especially with retaining her sweet demeanor ☺️. I got to give it to Tara St. Michel as Prince Komali, her performance was just utterly impressive. She's right up there with John Doyle for me in terms of the vocal performance in this video 😁. Much like the kids from Windfall, I loved how convincing she was making him sound like a child, or I suppose more specifically a tween, lol. The only difference being that she made sure to express Komali's insecurities and later his newfound confidence in her performance. Both him and his father felt real to me thanks to their voice actors 😆. Much like Elsie Lovelock voicing Link and Aryll's grandma, Tara has not only proven that she's a great singer but a great voice actor too 😁. I love it when vocal talents like them have such a range. Paired with both the voicework and the music, this video was masterfully handled in my opinion, XD. Everyone brought their all into this chapter, which, like how I've been saying, helped make the experience feel more cinematic. And you all did not disappoint 😉. All I can say is, bravo to all of you for another job well done 👏. I really cannot wait to see what you guys have in store for the next chapter. If the results are anything likethus, then I'm sure it'll be entertaining. Good luck to all of you, and excellent work as always 😊.

You know, for being the namesake of the game, the actual wind waker feels kinda like an afterthought. For example, Ocarinas appear all the time in ocarina of time and play a role in link’s character by connecting him to saria and Zelda. The phantom hourglass is essential for going forward in the game of the same name. I dunno, that’s just how I feel.

I may be an American but I don't hate Tingle; he's fine for what he is although I do like how in this HD version he actually tells you he's going straight back to his Island because in the original GameCube version I legitimately thought he wanted to go back to my home Island on outset before changing his mind and giving me the chart that shows where his Island and two great fairies are located
