Her movies were a safe and a wholesome fun for all the family to watch and spend quality time together .. I call her The Elegant Mother as she was a mother in most of her movies .. kind, loving and yes Elegant. She retired in Carmel, CA where she bought a cute hotel only to allow pets in as other hotels in town were not allowing pets in. She represented the best in our American culture. God bless her soul and accept her in His Mercy and in His Paradise.

I knew she broke both her legs badly, and wasn't able to walk for 3years, which meant she couldn't carry on her dream as a professional dancer. And during them 3years instead listened to a lot of records and started singing instead. But I didn't know it was a train that caused her injuries, crazy.

Doris Day was such a fantastic dancer! I've long been a fan of hers but somehow never saw this film until recently. I can't get over how she jumps up and down on the bar and at 2:16 she stands up from a cross-legged sitting position with no assistance! That's strength and talent! :)

Watch the lift up into the upper balcony, and then when she is lowered back down again. On the way down, I cannot see any safety equipment and it even seems that her full weight is already across the railing before the two cowboys grasp her arms. Yet she puts out her arms with perfect timing and confidence. Incredible.

Ms.Day has and always will be a great amazing woman who blessed me and my mother with so many wonderful moments and memories that can never be taken or lost or stolen or forgotten by me. But this is one of her greatest movies that I've ever seen in my 36 years of life. Just prayed that I would have had a chance to meet her or even just speak to her I would have been over the moon with a simple wave or hello from Ms.Day. We have to find more natural talent like hers. Just doesn't come around very often these days. Wonderful. My parents had this album when I was a kid. Actors who could sing dance and act were the norm. Entertainers in every sense of the word. Thanks for posting this up. Wonderful memories.

She is incomparable as Calamity and i can't think of anyone who could get anywhere near her level. As a direct contrast she was magnificent in "Love Me or Leave Me" opposite the great James Cagney.

RIP Doris Day... This was a REAL talent. Most singers these days can't carry a tune in a bucket or dance worth a damn. Without auto tune and backup dancers modern performers suck.

Ever heard of Broadway?? Because that’s just the non televised version of what she’s doing here 😅

Classic old person comment. Remember when your parents would say similar things about the artists you grew up listening to? People said the same shit about Elvis.
