I knew she broke both her legs badly, and wasn't able to walk for 3years, which meant she couldn't carry on her dream as a professional dancer. And during them 3years instead listened to a lot of records and started singing instead. But I didn't know it was a train that caused her injuries, crazy.

Doris Day was such a fantastic dancer! I've long been a fan of hers but somehow never saw this film until recently. I can't get over how she jumps up and down on the bar and at 2:16 she stands up from a cross-legged sitting position with no assistance! That's strength and talent! :)

Yep. She's all over the set doing this, including being raised and lowered by her arms, and she jumps all over the stagecoach in the opening number, and she's never even slightly out of breath. Seriously fit lady there!

Actually, she first started performing as a dancer, but switched to singing after she was hurt in a car accident. She recovered, but found she liked singing better, but obviously, she could still kick up her heels for these musicals when she had to.

On the way down, I cannot see any safety equipment and it even seems that her full weight is already across the railing before the two cowboys grasp her arms. Used to watch this as a kid every time I went to my aunt and uncle’s house. Pure gold. She was in her own world when acting...not afraid to really become the character she was playing. I fell in love with Ms.Doris Day when I was just a little girl. Thanks for my mom. Ms.Day has and always will be a great amazing woman who blessed me and my mother with so many wonderful moments and memories that can never be taken or lost or stolen or forgotten by me. But this is one of her greatest movies that I've ever seen in my 36 years of life. Just prayed that I would have had a chance to meet her or even just speak to her I would have been over the moon with a simple wave or hello from Ms.Day. We have to find more natural talent like hers. Just doesn't come around very often these days. AND I have talked with 2 of my daughter's about watching this masterpiece movie with me so that they can have fun and great amazing memories of me like I do of me and my mother. May God rest my mother's soul I love you so very very much mommy I pray and believe that u can see me and your grandchildren how much you were and still are missed and loved by us.
