I'm loving how absolutely committed to denial You were. It was a gut punch and a half but man alive does this show play with expectations. Always great to see you cracking on with the show.

It’s a little weird that some people comment almost like reacting to The Wire is like an exam that one passes or fails. I’m happy with “sharing” someone’s experience, whatever it is… these are well-put-together reactions. Thanks for doing them.

I mean thats fine and this can be a difficult to follow show the first time around but come on, nothing about the previous episode suggests D somehow survived. Besides showing him being literally strangled to death on screen we have Stringer ordering his death beforehand. That's not taking in to account the other blinking neon red signs that something bad was going to happen. like him flushing his drugs, deciding to fly straight and his realisation about Gatsby's past catching up to him that hey, also applied to him. Also confused about the notion that D had somehow a role to play in the future of the show. It's clear he's not gonna go to the police and is only going to do his time. Sure, they could make an interesting story about that but it would be very disconnected from the rest of the show, him being in prison and all. D's story (in the sense of its place in the rest of the show) was done.

Lot of grouchy comments here but I just want to let you know I really appreciate seeing these reactions come out. I do remember feeling empty and betrayed by Dee's death but that's the point I think. As another incredibly-written show said: "Everybody leaves unfinished business. That's what dying is." Looking forward to the rest of the show. Glad you're on the mend!
@janandduke42164 ай бұрын
I find that quote very fitting! I also agree that Dee's death as soon as he came to a resolution was the point. Great story telling honestly. Thank you for sharing and thank you for watching with me (:

@@janandduke4216yeah, there are several layers to his death, and the first is, he was at peace with himself and was free by choosing to just move away from it all and accepting what he did and who he was. He did kill someone and never took the fall for that, after all, so he just made peace with his fate and accepted responsibility for his actions, ready to live freer in jail, like he once said. That's the first layer, second is, Stringer had absolutely nothing to fear from Dee at this point. But he did what he did, and did it behind his boss's back. The thing to remember about the Wire is that it's TV, but is paced and structured like a book, and doesn't go for the same payoffs most TV does. There's rarely a cliffhanger on this show, for example. And the show is very layered with ironic, unsatisfying moments that are meant to cause discomfort. Wallace dies with his two friends yelling at him to be a man, when Wallace had a clearer grasp of manhood than Bodie does, for example. It's all this that makes the show so rewatchable. And it's perfectly valid for you to be sent into denial because the show killed a character you cared and had expectations for, it shows the show is doing a great job at making you care. Your heart will be broken by the Wire a few times yet, I'm afraid.

They legit showed the unaliving. The copeage is STRONG in this reaction. lol I’m not saying The Wire is sooo realistic, however it’s darn close to actual reality. So, although you may feel unsatisfied, the story was told very well. It was shaping up to happen in that way. That’s life ya know. It’s not always a happy ending. That’s one of the best things about The Wire. The denial is hilarious doe. Despite all of the negativity you’ve been getting, keep rocking. You’re great. It’s just funny that’s all cuz u know Wire fans are passionate. Maybe a lil too much. 😅

Another great example of the show's irony is the automation scene. Frank is right in fearing the loss of jobs, but we also clearly see why automation could and should be a good thing if it was actually used to make existing jobs easier and not just increase the profit margins vy cutting off labour. Everyone gets a bit shortsighted in this show , sometimes.

I hope you’re going to get on the ball ⚽️ with your KZbin family. We need WIRE more and more frequently. Every other week then a month or 6 weeks. That one of the reasons you didn’t remember the strangulation. Now I know you’re smart enough to go back and watch the end last episode. But anyway, great to see you looking healthy and back rejuvenated. But we need more from you.✌🏿

See this is the reason you’re WIRE FANBASE say to be consistent with the episodes so you don’t get lost. Dee getting strangled at the end of last episode was just as tragic as Wallace getting shot. But you not giving priority to The Wire Reactions on KZbin. Now you’re in the dark because you don’t even remember. Shame on you Jan.

Hi! There's not a gap in time between me watching the episodes. I have them recorded just need to edit them. I work full time so youtube is my hobby. I'm only confused with Stringers transaction because i'm not good with faces and names unfortunatley, not because i haven't watched an episode in awhile. As for Dee, I really really enjoyed his character and storyline so am in denial of his death lol silly i know but it is what it is. Anyways, I respect all of the fanbases on my channel and do my best to find time to edit for all of them. As far as the storyline, just know that I am consistant with that. Thank you for watching!
