This is the first video on my Norse Pagan KZbin channel. It is an introduction to myself and my beliefs as I live as a believer of Odin in this modern world.
Please connect with me here on KZbin or my Instagram @thewisdomofodin
More videos will come soon if you would like to hear any specific topic talked about on this show please reach out to me!
My name is Jacob and I am a norse pagan. For a long time I was not a believer in anything, however when I started researching the ways of my ancestors I felt the presence of Odin and Loki. After my experiences with these gods I can no longer go back to a life without them.
In June of 2019 Odin sat down before me and told me I needed to gather more pagans around a fire to speak of the gods, spirits, and the ancestors. This youtube is part of that goal, so please follow me here or on instagram @thewisdomofodin to connect with me and our gods.
If you ever have any questions or just want to talk of the faith I am always available!
Until we drink around the fire together! Skal!
Skål!

I'm a returning Norse Pagan. I've been back and forth between Christianity and Asatru because I was trying to find myself per say. I found the old ways through a former friend of mine (former because of personal reasons I don't wish to tell). I struggled because I was raised Christian. When you were taught all your life one thing and then grow up, find other beliefs through research and find Asatru, and choose to return to the old ways of my ancestors, and all of your family consist of Christians and Republicans it's very difficult to truly open up about who I really am. I was 20 when I found the Gods. I'm now 25 and no longer go back and forth and accepted the old ways of life. I too am a Norse Pagan and I'm proud of who I am. I just got my Mjolnir necklace two days ago. I wear it with pride and yet, even though I've known about Asatru for the past 5 years, I'm but a pup in the belief. I strive to become a Wolf of Odin more so than ever, not a lamb of the Christian God. What made me convert was because of how Christianity was written by the blood of Innocents who were Pagan throughout history and the fact that they pretty much stole everything from the Pagans. Our very days of the week and our holidays are Pagan today everything is so Christianized that most people are blind to that fact and my eyes were opened. I decided to try communing with the Gods tonight. I feel great. I thank you for this channel because it has helped me through my Pagan Journey. Skal!

My favorite part of this is: I was talking to someone about how Týr is personally very special to me. Then like 30 seconds later you said you could have a conversation with someone from the west coast of America about their relationship with Týr. I turned to the video playing so fast and smiled because that's also me. I'm from the west coast and have a connection with Týr! 😎😂

I'm glad I found you Jacob, I'm from Portugal and I don't know anyone that's on the same path. As you, I find myself having amazing conversations when the subject comes up. But a lot of times people disregard it as influence from the "Vikings" show. I'm happy that I found your channel. Being alone in this in Portugal has been rough for the lack of knowledge. And then you came along in my life. Thank you for believing. Thank you for doing this for us all.

'well I guess I'm a pagan now' haha that was me! I had a similar experience with Thor. I was just doing my thing and suddenly - Thor. No precursor or anything, he just made himself known. I also asked for a sign and when I woke up the next morning it was to thunder. Sometimes Thor likes to wake me with thunder to this day to remind me just who I work with. Love your videos!

Great video, bro! Looking forward to seeing where this channel goes! I remember a few months back I was in northern Arizona with my girlfriend and we were hiking out in the woods by a huge natural waterfall. I was telling her about heathenism and we were having a great conversation, and then suddenly a big black raven perched about an arm's length away from my. Now, of course, Ravens are very common here and they like to ask for food. But the timing was beautiful and it was incredibly meaningful. Do these connections and moments have mundane causes? Sure. but that doesn't mean they don't ALSO carry whispers from old gods with them.

We have a lot of things in common. I too am from Ohio, rural area rather than suburb’s though, raised Christian, never really got that feeling, I even know about Awana lol. I also then explored Buddhism as well as meditation. I have had encounters with a pagan goddess. Being part of a religion that is one with nature and awakens things within yourself just makes so much more sense. I’m looking forward to exploring Norse paganism as well as watching your other videos. Keep it up my friend.

I was born and raised in Moline Illinois, I relate to you so much. I never got into "Jesus Christ" I always tried to fit in and actually feel what everyone else was feeling and I never did. I emersed myself in pretty far and when my dad committed suicide I was looked at like this girl is the daughter of sin, then two years later my brother committed suicide and then it was this girl is sin incarnate. The church elders told all my friends I was a bad influence and to avoid me at all cost. I never would get baptized either because I didn't agree with one omnipotent person, I always looked at it like a council. I was told all the time how wrong my beliefs were. I also looked at the bible like a great story book with good guidelines to live your life by, but I didn't take it as the end all of be all. I was looked at like I was crazy and I didn't really care. It took me 35 years to finally say what I am. I am a Norse Pagan.

Just found this channel always felt connected to this faith and the gods. My family were Vikings that settled in Ireland. Eventually, somewhere along the line, they converted to Christianity, and left the way of the old gods. I never felt connected to Jesus or the Christian God. I was in school and was learning about Norse mythology, and I could just feel a connection to it. This is where my journey started. Thanks to your channel I can learn more and grow my faith. Thank you for the book suggestions, and helping me on my way.

Jakob, ive watched many of your videos, but ive never watched this one. I made a conscious decision tonight to immerse myself in Norse Paganism because I believe in spirit and now in the body I am a Norse Pagan that has never "woken up". This video gave me goosebumps because RIGHT NOW I feel like I am at that part in my life where you basically talked about "finding the way". Ive had a literal personal relationship with Jesus Christ and with the Christian God, however - I think as I grow more spiritually, I have to gravitate to my spiritual roots, and that's with Norse Paganism. I feel totally drawn to this religion and I am not sure why. Maybe that's a bad thing, but I do not question it. I had researched Islam as well as Hinduism to try to find the right fit for me, and nothing on this earth, NOTHING has resonated with me and my heart, my spirit more than Norse Paganism. THAT HAS TO COUNT FOR SOMETHING! The last 3 minutes of this video almost brought me to tears, simply because you are right. I feel in my heart, after seeing your other videos that this is your true calling. This is what you were meant to do. Odin definitely has shown you the way and put you on this path, and I am so glad you followed it. The way you just articulated how Paganism has a bright future, man - it hit me really hard because it's so true, and I thank you for that. Much love, brother!

I'm a pagan who lives in a place where almost everyone has other religions and believes, it feels absolutely lonely sometimes. I've always felt like I don't belong ,and I yearn for finding my place and my community, and having gatherings with my people. I want to move away to somewhere else as soon as I can. Hopefully sooner than later. When you talked about the future of paganism, I felt the hope and the joy of that upcoming future in my heart.

The first person I told was my Christian Uncle, he was a hippie. Free love kind of guy, but believed in god in a different way than others. He was so excited for me because I found my path. I told my father recently, while a Christian he is similar to my uncle. He's just happy I found my way. However even my father asked me to never tell my mother. She believes the earth is 6,000 years old and everyone but Baptist go to hell. Why I find her ideas backwards I love my mother, so I will do my best to never tell her. So the best answer I can give you is to pick your battles and who you tell. If you know that a family member would never understand, and you love that family member it's probably best to never tell them. But no matter what you choose to do, know that you will always have a family in your pagan brothers and sisters. One day we will have a hall again, for all of us. If you ever need more advice or want to talk more details email me at thewisdomofodin@gmail.com, or connect with me on Instagram @thewisdomofodin Hope this helps, skål!

My first contact with the gods after 25 years of brainwashed Christianity was. A female lol she was cheating on me with a female. There's more to it but right after I had a dream. And after 2 years of doing my ancestry and doing my DNA I had a dream I died and woke up in a field and some huge guy with red hair said go that way. And the friend I was with went with him. I started buying books and books and learning. I wanted so much knowledge. That was 7 years ago and now I am soooo glad my ancestors reached out to me. My path has been so rewarding and I love it.
