Getting one-shotted through your quen by the bats was a nice jaw-drop moment the first time around.
@The93Momo938 жыл бұрын
That was the moment I said fuck it and dropped the difficulty from DM to the easiest in the first time and the last time. I couldn't get the timing right even after 1 hour. I didn't have the willpower to lose hours of progress and get the instant health mutation, shame on me I guess. I wanted to get it though xD. Maybe next time, I do want to hit the level 100 cap after all.
@Goudhaantje19938 жыл бұрын
All you have to do basically is make sure you are at a great distance. Listen for the bat noises as he gathers them around him. Between those bat noises and him actually using the attack, there's a moment of silence. That's when you roll or run. Once I got that down I avoided the attack every time.
@TitoOliveiraDesign8 жыл бұрын
It's much easier to just start running when you hear to time cue, or before. Actually, as long as you don't run out of stamina in the middle of the attack, you're fine.

This scene seriously hurt. I really like Regis, and he must've felt so betrayed, while also feeling like a betrayer. When you first meet him, he tells you that his bond with Dettlaff is so strong a human could never truly understand it. He also explains that Dettlaff took care of him for over a year while he regenerated. Most people's friends and, hell, even their _partners_ wouldn't do that. Then he tries to stop Geralt mid battle and pays dearly for it, by getting impaled and thrown into a building. After that he feels compelled to kill his best friend, his brother, only to be branded a traitor by the other elders. And when he dropped to his knees in anguish after killing Dettlaff ... that broke me, man.

Well, he one shots geralt if you choose a wrong option during conversation, and he could also put regis into a sleep state with extreme ease, the elder is so overpowered, I think that they made higher vampires overpowered in the games, in the book vilgefortz was able to defeat regis with one spell and he was fighting against yennefer and geralt as well, it's true that vilgefortz is probably the most powerful mage, but I still believe that higher vampires in the books aren't THAT powerful, they're god like in blood and wine.

You know, this fight is perfect. The entire Witcher series, they really drill in that Higher Vampires are pretty close to gods, and cannot be killed. In the novels, Geralt says he'd never fight Regis, simply because he knows he wouldn't stand a prayer. This fight really captured that - fighting Dettlaff is exactly as hard as they make it out to be (well, on higher difficulties with one-hit kills, of course). Dettlaff is big, angry, and downright terrifying, and up to a point sympathetic and almost childlike with his naivety. But he can destroy a city with a thought, and Regis says he's well capable of doing it by hand too, if he wants. And he has maybe hundreds of thousands of years of experience. Great final boss, overall, probably my favourite in the series and probably the hardest too.
@plackiplicki35318 жыл бұрын
Stop with this bullshit. In the books, when Regis identity was discovered, he simply asked Geralt for how much money he'd try to kill him and Geralt said "a fucking lot". Regis was slaughtered easily by Villgefortz and by the way, he was cut into pieces and burried by simple peasants before that.
@jellebos14818 жыл бұрын
You're right about the first part, however the reason he got cut up by peasants earlier was because he was too intoxicated by blood to control his own body, couldnt really do anything...

@@ChrisSmooth24 most popular ? really ? so why after the recent Netflix series debut, the witcher 3 set a steam record and became one of the most played games recently ? More time played? Kkkkkkkk I don't know if you know but only the witcher 3 main campaign is much bigger than Skyrim's and even along with side missions too , More memes? And since when do memes make a game have quality? Best mods? Well this goes for personal taste and the proposal of both despite being the same genre comes out different, The problem is that Bethesda is too deceiving who plays her games, so these people can't get out of this bubble and accept that another game looks better than her games. The Witcher has: much better developed story and narrative system and characters mainly the protagonist, much more fluid combat system, less exploration system inconvenient because no loadings to open a simple door for example graphics well this does not even have to compare since both games are from different generations, but cd projekt is not game in game by recycling the same engine over time.And lastly unlike Bethesda, which launches the bug-packed and badly optimized game on purpose so that moders on the PC fix it for free later on, cd projekt values competence and respect for the consumer in this regard they always optimize the game as much as possible to avoid launching full of bugs.

The best thing about this scene is Detlaff is stronger than Regis but Regis was seemingly overpowering him in most of the fight. In other games and movies allies are so weak all the time and there are no equal battles and the bosses are always seemingly the strongest but at least intimidating. They say it is needed but it is not! Witcher 3 is brave enough to go against lots of clichés and it became a master piece! CD Project Red is just awesome!
@geasszero456 жыл бұрын
András Csékey I wouldnt say Detlaff was stronger, but he wasnt pulling his punches. Regis was since he really didn't want to kill him but in the end he had too. Still I get what you mean as Regis was definitely important in defeating Detlaff and if there was a companion system he be pretty fucking op.

What a sad ending for anyone who has read the books. Regis doesn't deserve to go through that, Geralt always preferred his friends to politics and he would have chosen to sacrifice Syanna instead of killing Detlaff if there was to be one canon choice, for the very simple reason that Geralt would have chosen to side with Regis.

That pained expression Regis' face when Geralt said hes come to kill Detlaff and then you see how hard it is for him to step away to Geralt's side. Its an amazing detail and puts into perspective how its hurts Regis so much to have to choose Geralt, knowing he cant remain neutral and Detlaff must be stopped no matter what even though their bond is something no human will understand. Even in the fight when they subdue him together he at first tells Geralt to stay his blade before Detlaff incapacitates him
