Complete edition and this new "next-gen update" are not the same thing... Next-gen update is just a free patch and complete edition is a bundle with both dlcs included

the next gen version is better graphically yes, it reminds me of GTA V when its first remaster came out, the denser vegetation made the real difference in the game made its world more alive compared to the last gen , but I still think the last gen version of The Witcher 3 holds up well today, I don't know if it's just me but I find the water and godrays of the original version better than the new version .

The water is actually better in performance mode than RT Mode more animated. the SSR upgrade in RT mode makes the water look off

I must be the one person playing with ray tracing and yes you take a hit to fps . But I legit was playing old Gen version @ 30 and the difference in atmosphere is night and day . Honestly to me it’s worth the hit . Legit mind blowing different at times .

I tried giving rt mode a shot but it also seems to be buggy, causing flickering in the distance at the beginning of the game and the fps dips when doing anything, especially during combat kinda kills it for me. Performance all the way. What I really like is the edition of built in Hdr, but they haven't added the full settings yet.

I'm still on my first play through of this amazing game and just got a series X. On the X the game plays incredible. Load times are super fast,game plays very smooth and looks great. I have 300+ hours into witcher 3 and that's not even playing the DLC yet,so I'll have a good 500+ hours into this game. I was happy with the original xbox one game but the new gen series X really does step it up a notch. Love the smoother 60fps gameplay and I pick performance over raytracing.

Great video guys. I find I turn on ray tracing when I'm indoors during the day and during the night. Can't wait for Ray Traced 60fps games

RT mode feels like playing red dead 1 or skyrim on the ps3.. its really choppy.. looks really good but choppy. i would play it if it was a locked 30 fps tbh

Idk why they bother with RT on console, most devs won't touch fsr and even then that's inferior to dlss, consoles don't even use full RT anyway
