This series is solely based on the books. They are probably notified not to acknowledge CDPR's contribution to The Witcher's popularity. It's because of the damn author! He sold the rights to CDPR, took the cash money instead of royalty. When he sold the royalty, he don't have hope for it be popular. As the game became popular, he was vocal about his disdain about the game and the video game as a medium itself. On the recent development, he went and demand CDPR to give him more money. The author is a money grabbing asshat and his only saving grace is that the made The Witcher. He still probably don't realise that The Witcher is popular is because of the games and not solely because he made the books.

HollieIrish --- I don't like the jacket or the shirt underneath either. Both are ugly & ugly color on Henry. Never seen Henry in this color before. He should have worn jeans & a shirt. He looked Smashing & So Gorgeous at the the Mission Impossible Fallout premier. I loved the suit & shirt he wore. Made him look so Gorgeous. He also is wearing to much Olive green shirts colors. Does not become him. Plus there was one time I saw him in a suit with a huge tie. It looked stupid. He needs a women point of view when picking cloths. Also he needs to cut his hair shorter like he had it when he was in the Tudors & had his natural curly hair. I loved his hair back then better then how he wears it for the last 10 years. Personally, I think Lauren, who is from my hometown of Westerville, Ohio, is being disingenuous when she claims she's only trying to make female characters as interesting as men (and not moreso). The current paradigm in fiction, whether we're talking about movies, television, or the written word, is to create female protagonists that are equal to or SUPERIOR to their male counterparts in virtually every way. This defies logic. Men were never superior to women, they only had different roles throughout history (which is why we are dimorphic creatures). In fact, they have specifically targeted male protagonists that have been popular in some cases for decades so that they could reduce their legendary status to that of below women. We've seen it with Luke Skywalker, Jean Luke Picard, and even Geralt of Rivia with the utter abandonment of his witty dialog from the books in favor of grunts and expletives. I've heard it claimed that this was because they didn't have time since they created this whole back story for Yennefer that didn't exist in the books, and while that may be true, it shouldn't have happened exactly for that reason (at the sacrifice of Geralt, the main protagonist). Make no mistake, it is called The Witcher, not the Mage. Nevertheless, Lauren & Netflix were set out to sacrifice a great deal of Geralt's character to give superior status to a female supporting character who they chose to promote to match or exceed that of Geralt (which is not how the books were written). The important thing to realize is that this artificial power given to women (making them equal or better fighters, for example), is not only fiction in and of itself, it also degrades the status of women who prefer to fill the traditional (and in many ways) more important roles of women in society throughout history. It's as if they think that not making women equal to men in all ways somehow diminishes their importance. Moreover, they don't try to elevate men to be equal to women in ways that they are clearly superior in the real world, so in the aggregate, they are making women better than men and this is no accident in my opinion. It is to further divide society and break up families to aid in making us more dependent on the system and easier (more distracted) to control.

It’s an invented word that did not exist prior to creation of the first book. It relates to witches obviously.. but in case of witchers, as young boys they would undergo alchemy trials (drink dangerous potions) in order to obtain superhuman reflexes, strength and senses. In addition they are trained in basic magic, traps, enchancing elixirs brewing and advanced sword combat. The name also relates to the medieval setting of the story and to the fact that witchers are being feared and despised by the society in the same ways witches are. It’s a totally original creation by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
