L.Frank Baum’s connection to Holland, Michigan, came through formative experiences leading to his creative vision worked out in his Oz books. Today, Holland remembers and celebrates its history with Baum with pride!

What a cool sculpture garden. I love how they were based upon the original sketches. The Tin Man is my favorite too. I didn't know yellow bricks were real and it makes sense why it was included in the story if they were manufactured in Baum's area.

Very cool. I had no idea. Here in San Diego, of course, there's connections to him with the "Munchkin House" in La Jolla, and with the Hotel del Coronado and Coronado in general. One year in the late 1980s, the Hotel Del decorated their main Christmas tree in a Wizard of Oz theme. Dolls representing each of the main characters and even some flying monkeys served as ornaments. It was pure delight.
