The WNBA before and after Caitlin Clark!
Caitlin Clark's impact on the WNBA has been profound, causing significant changes and shifting dynamics. Ticket prices for games, especially those involving the Indiana Fever, have soared since she entered into the league. Viewership and TV ratings for WNBA events have dramatically increased, with even the draft reaching record-breaking numbers. Caitlin's influence extends beyond the court, as evidenced by her lucrative brand deals and endorsement records. Her popularity has led to larger arenas being used for games against her team and even contributed to the league's expansion. Despite some criticism, Caitlin's undeniable impact has irrevocably transformed women's basketball.

@@Querencias7I’m a CC fan, I including having an Iowa and Fever jersey, but the “Queen Caitlin” line is the type of thing that gives CC fans a bad name. It has a bad look to it. She’s a normal person who has an extraordinary set of gifts (on and off the court), but she has shown, time and time again, she just wants to be treated as a person like you and me. Stop with the coronation, but still bestow her flowers as rightly deserved.
@Querencias7

@@charliemirus4124 Point well taken, CM. Alright then, flowers to the Princess (a notch below queen 😉). Yes, of course she is a normal person like the rest of us, WNBA or no WNBA. At present moment though, a positive superlative or two is justified, IMO, to describe a very special young lady that has, as her moniker indicates, an entire, natural, terrific Caitlin Clark EFFECT within and for the good of this women's professional basketball league. The Caitlin Clark Effect. That's some title! A profound personal and professional attribute. She has become an honest, legitimate star and celebrity. This, mind you, with honesty and humble class despite her young age (normally lacking integrity in such a big portion of today's youth). This is why I think of her as a queen, per se. No, I don't worship CC. I just attempted to place a sense of regality on her in recognition of her authentic character, skills and talent. I highly appreciate her present image and role model worth, particularly for the kids that look up to her with respect and admiration. Worth (again, IMO) of kind coronation. PS: Throughout the decades there have been a number of "kings" and "queens" in the world of sports (I remember, for example, Rey Pelé even in his youth). It is sports with a simple adjective as an illustration, not a call to adoration.

@@NancyHeronimusTo be fair, she has a couple offensive rebounds, but most are defensive according to the stats. I looked that one up, with the same question in mind. Her 3rd game against the Fever she actually played well and didn't try to be petty. One of her best performances. Then, after that...she showed up in a Tesla Truck with a rapper from one of Chicago's most violent gangs. So?!? That's that. Most of the Black female superstar Bballers all had parents with money, maybe that also played ball amd they went to expensive private schools. With lots of Whites helping them all long the way. Only the brain-dead don't acknowledge this new superstar. I wouldn't even know these other names - Taurasi, Reese, et al - if it weren't for Clark. Still not going to pay money to watch a WNBA game, but for the first time, I've watched. Her smooth finesse compared to every other player it the league, is a joy to watch. It's just sad when great passes are missed by team mates because they don't play at the same level.

Yeah, capitalizing on the price for the hype i think will backfire since the league seems determined to destroy CC. Make a modest rise in ticket sales and gouge them with the memorabilia. The price of admission is insane. Especially, wjen the coach will not have the all-tome leader in college scoring shoot the last shot and always subs her out when the game is on the line needing a stop. Even if she has steals that game and perfect free throws. She's tied with their best rebounders for defensive boards?!? And rushes the floor. When the teams don't have time to double team, they succeed. The coach and refs don't seem to like it?!?

The only points, Caitlin refuses, to add to her totals, are "victim" points. Only card she won't swipe, is a "victim" card. I'd like to see, her College coach, get Toronto, and have Clark, go there. Then the legacy, can "really" begin. I'd also like to see her, take Cube up, on his offer ( grab a "bag", in the off season, and they wouldn't even have to "run" her hard ), if USA Basketball, doesn't, at least, take her to France, as an ambassador ( letting her carry the flag, for opening, and closing ceremonies ), for the sport.

Numbers don't lie. Clark and only Clark has changed the WNBA, Clark and Clark alone has brought All the new fans to the WNBA no one else can claim other wise. I've said this from the beginning, people would pay to see Clark just shoot the ball without any one else on the court just enjoy her shooting around for entertainment. Fans are watching her every move oblivious to everyone unless Clark passes the ball to them. It's a phenomenon that my grandson put in prospective when I was watching the Fever vs the Liberty. He asked if Caitlin Clark was playing and I asked him how he knew about her and he said Everyone knows who Caitlin Clark is. He didn't even know women played professional basketball.

Did people suddenly realize how Stunning And Brave, Interesting, Entertaining and Competitive the "W" Players, AKA "Legends"(Self Proclaimed, mostly) have been all along? OR, Did a little White Girl From Iowa, who had Balled The Brakes Off Most Opposing Teams and lead the NCAA for all Four Years that "C Squared" played at Iowa, bring lots of "Her Fans", and ADD NEW FANS because of her Classy Behavior, Taking The Beatings without a single Whine, and leaving the Bullies doing the Whining, right Along with her Playing Ability and unarguable talent that, not only, Brought In New Fans, Sold Out Venues, Unheard Of Merchandise Sales, but has continued to KEEP those new fans Interested and Entertained. Something The Entire WNBA, try as they might, COULD NEVER DO, Not Even For One Single Year of the Almost 30 Years of that League's Existence...........

Interesting comparison to Taylor and her Swifties...the league should do its best to capitalize on this growth in popularity and change the game to embrace the new fans...it will only grow with Paige and JuJu in the coming years.

The WNBA is going to have to protect her better. Similar to the way the NBA did Jordan. Don’t mean “hands off” but the unnecessary violence is ridiculous! I think next year, if they want a new TV contract, the NBA commissioner will need to step in and make this part of the deal so CC will be on the floor often

As of late I believe the players are starting to see the effect CC is having on the whole league, they're starting to just let her play her game without all the unnecessary physicality as before because it makes them look bad. They're realizing she's the sole reason the eyes are on the W, that she's the real face of this league, of course they won't say that but we all know. The numbers don't lie. Still , she does have to continue to work on certain aspects of her game to be truly spectacular which will come with time. This is her first go round at this level and after she builds more strength and endurance the monster that she told her coach will definitely come out.......

People love Catlin because she’s the Steph Curry of the WNBA…check the shooting percentage of WNBA players before Catlin! Her performance in college showed fans that a more reliable offensive player is here and she will elevate other players too. Now for the first time Angel is trying to develop a consistent jump shot…lol

Clark gave every player in the league a huge pay rise and they still can't respect her...only in America would this happen...hope she goes to Europe one day..they'll have something to moan about then.

Would it be fair to describe the pre Caitlin Clark WNBA as a small subsidized fan club (of which Caitlin was a member) vs the current Caitlin Clark revival WNBA which is quickly becoming a money generating eye ball catching professional sports league with increased major financial partners with a growing investment plan and a brighter future?

It would also be Sentient, not Prescient, since you seem to have your Lace Panties twisted, about my calling you out on what a 7 year old would know, Puddin. Your inequities ain't my problem, but mebbe you should take advantage of the old Homily that advises that "nobody should ever miss the Opportunity to STFU"

When Michael Jordan joined the NBA, the increase to the income for the league helped all players be paid more or the same. Now the CC is here and helping the league this much, the other players should be thanking her for making their league actually profitable instead of operating at a loss. Perhaps now they can start receive pay checks that are more in line with other athletes.
