? The way government corruption has hurt the black community ends hurting up the rest of America even worse. A lot of the cultural wars figures cause division and miss the point of bigger issues (black pilots, Charlie Kirk, etc.). In 2020, the Airlines kicked out a lot of Pilots and for years many were corrupt with testing. Black Pilots got put up as a reason for conflict. Glad you didn't have to deal with victim mentality

1:31:22 I’m white, and I don’t see America First as a ‘white problem’ at all. Framing it that way is selfish because it makes the movement about you and your personal hang-ups instead of what it’s really about: loyalty, brotherhood, family, and working together as Americans to strengthen the nation we all share. Constantly dragging race into it divides us and keeps people stuck in grievances instead of focusing on the future. There’s no reason not to unite as citizens-our shared future depends on it. Making it about race just undermines the purpose of America First and puts your own perspective above what unites us and makes us stronger together. You’re looking at white people and black people as two separate monoliths, which is why you feel like you don’t belong. When you decide to assess people on an individual basis instead of as either ‘white’ or ‘black,’ then you’ll feel the fraternity that ‘America First’ embodies
@beltsandedman2 күн бұрын
Very well said!
@Nowledgeman2 күн бұрын
I think the more collectivist right camp would suggest that "America first" is too broad. It's so broad, it barely means anything. Different groups sometimes need different things. Black people didn't need their growing economic potential stifled by forced integration in the 60s. White people didn't need 100 years of propaganda convincing them that their entire culture and heritage is just stealing from other people. Different groups have been attacked in different ways. Doesnt mean we can't live around each other but the organization needs to be more localized and in some cases group specific. The truth is that groups of people starting communities with some form of segregation would destroy the US government. The more stiff the boundaries, the more solid the community. It doesn't mean we have to go to war with each other but a strong community is not a diverse one. A diverse community ensures disorganization and interorganizational strife. This is why established, too big to fail, companies embrace their hr department pushing diversity. It atomizes people to the point that they can't establish a culture within the organization that might not be in the best interest of the employer Id prefer to live in a rothbardian white community (or just one with mostly people in the middle to lower middle class even if some are black or Mexican) A black guy from Brooklyn might prefer something quite different. Their success or issues are their problems and they might be able to solve them since they wouldnt have outside forces with different preferences influencing their decision making, like prominent Jews convincing them to abort babies and presiding over a welfare system that creates no burden of social responsibility There is a deep psychological reason the FBI burned those people alive in Waco... That type of organizing is the realest threat that could exist

I understand being offended by people assuming that a black pilot was DEI hire and less qualified (which is the second reason DEI hiring is a net bad for society), but this is NOT the argument coming from the Right. The argument is that DEI is a bad idea resulting in poorer outcomes across the board, and in the case of airplane pilots, hiring pilots should NEVER EVER give identity any weight/consideration, as merit/skill is all that matters, and lives are on the line. And the issue of pilots came up because in the UK, they DID apply DEI quotas to hiring airline pilots and it was very alarming to anyone with basic sense.

I'd give this example of how you can love the country and not love the government. The government is the manager of this country. It isn't the country. We didn't declare war on Britain, we declared our independence. The American Revolution was a defense of our newly found independence. The managers for the last 100 years, haven't been doing what's in the best interest of our country. They are doing what's in their best interest. Which is accumulating land, power and wealth. Just because some decisions benefit Americans doesn't mean the manager did it for them. If you give your dog leftovers, you didn't cook for your dog. You cooked for yourself and then thought it was better served to give it to the dog than just dump it in the trash. Citizens have become the pets. We cheer on the government when they leave us scraps.

I had the same experience growing up that my homie Davey describes here. The majority of men I looked up to as a young man in New York were black. Athletes, musicians, etc. The only thing that changed in the world was when Obama started smoking such horrible racial division in my early 20s

If the conversation was merely about acknowledging that certain conservatives lack principles then nobody would take issue with that. Conservatives call other conservatives RINOs all the time after all. But what Lindsay does is try to pull mental gymnastics in trying to tie a leftist ideology to conservatives who have called him and other liberals who share his positions for being unprincipled. Smearing people as "woke right" is not honest engagement, and merely seeks to demonize conservatives who don't hold Lindsay's positions without any debate.

Enjoyed this conversation. I married a man who happens to be black (I’m white) We had a daughter. How we taught our daughter to push minorities up is with her purse. I would go to the most diverse in each field. This was during the early 90’s (yes I’m older) I found a dentist who happened to be Mexican descent and homosexual. My doctor was straight from the Middle East. My hair dresser was black. The list goes on and on. I only buy local and from small independent shops. I’m originally from an extremely poor area. 80% of the county was on some type of government program. However I was lucky, my husband and I moved. But I grew up in an area where most people were poor. A good day is a trip to Walmart. I took my daughter back there regularly so she’d be exposed to Real “people”. My husband and I would visit his family in the inner city so she’d see the “Real” people. I believe it’s important to raise children to see all people. That is the only way we are going to make our country better. I’m proud to say my daughter is well rounded with friends from many backgrounds. She travels and has lived in a few other countries. Interacting with the cultures in each place she visits or lives. (Not always the safest places but she an adult, and nothing I can say will change her mind) I just believe if we start young we can have an impact on the future. Just my opinion, take it or leave it 😉

It seems you taught your daughter not to judge people based on the content of their character but on the color of their skin (as well as other immutable characteristics). That's pretty "woke." Instead of choosing businesses because of the race/sex/sexual orientation/etc. of the proprietor, you should have taught your daughter to choose the businesses based on merit, REGARDLESS of those immutable characteristics.
@Sassytxsonia21 сағат бұрын
@ maybe I didn’t word it correctly because I would never go to a dentist who wasn’t good, or a hair dresser who made me look silly. I believe what I taught her is to NOT look at any color, religion or background and give everyone a chance. Today as an adult that’s exactly how she is. And if they don’t hold up to her standards she won’t go back to them. With medical care (which is extremely important to her, due to her medical issues) She studies their experience to make sure they are who she can trust. I’m Not saying I was the best mom or teacher, however seeing her today somehow she came out to be a great person who doesN’t judge on first glance. 🙂
