"Traditional women" never existed to begin with. Even my great grandma born in 1913 was working her whole life. I don't know any real woman among elders that was "traditional" in that sense. Working was more difficult for women bc period utensils like sanitary pads or painkillers were unavailable, yet still most women worked whenever they could. The idea of gender roles existed bc we didn't have technology like washing mashines, electronic devices so cleaning and cooking took much more time. Here's the thing about mental illness. Compassion & Empathy is what helps someone who is struggling. It's very telling to me when someone says they have no compassion for someone.
