Our country is now more divided along the urban/rural line than ever before. Don't let this fact lead you to despair!
As a whole, most of the problem is a lack of understanding between the Urban and the Rural people. There are many ways we can cross this divide, but it won't be accomplished by sitting back and embracing our little corner of the world.
In this video, I interviewed a Colorado Food Producer, also known as a rancher, who is fighting to bring the two worlds together. Just as I am attempting to do myself.

The government needs to pay the ranchers for every head of cattle that they lose predators, they unleashed on the land. They need to surround the wildlands with electrical fences, so that the wildlife inside the forest, which is public land, does not come and use the property of the ranchers. This is ridiculous. The ranchers do so much to provide food, and it’s a hard, tough life to care for these animals that will soon become our food. Every activity and exercise on private lands should be paid for by those doing their special studies and the government wanting to reserve wildlife. I am all for the preservation of wildlife, but not when our ranchers are expected to foot the bill for everyone! The government needs to pay the ranches for every head of cattle, that they lose! And any other costs incurred thru loss of feed, veterinary costs incurred because of injury etc. Thank you for these wonderful videos about our ranchers!

I live and grew up in East Central coastal Florida. The Kennedy Space Center is 5 miles from me. When i was a young man, our community was primarily citrus groves and sportsman vacationers. The space industry is well-rooted here now and, of course, like me, there are thousands of retirees. We locals failed to perceive what the enormous impact of land developers and carpetbaggers would have on our environment and our culture. The ranchers you interview appear to be dealing with unfettered growth and current risk far better than us. I wish you all good luck and perseverance in your efforts to maintain your heritage and your food production businesses. Your consistent efforts are not for the faint of heart.

I love my CO ranchers, you guys rock it! The meat is incredible when you can buy direct. Get behind them guys they know their industry well and their opinions need to be heard. Ive watched so many ranchers leave here, its been hard to see it change and sadly cant say the change is for the better. Get rid of all the red tape, no one told settlers of this country you need a permit to grow and eat food. Its just absolutely out of control. She is right there is a gap between the farmers/ranchers and the legislative agencies causing a lot of unnecessary interference but Id advise investigating who is funding their agendas. Keep letting the public see your obstacles, they need to understand what you guys really do and the obstacles being thrown at you.

At 70yo, growing up on my grandfather's farm in MD, then 37 yrs in Southern PA among hundreds of acres of farmland, I so connect with this lady....and all she is doing. Because I've eaten a Carnivore diet for the past 5yrs, and the whole Carnivore movement has become a runawsy train, cattle are very important to me...and all of us. Just a wonderful wonderful conversation.💕 Moved to NE Texas 3yrs ago with my wild-caught Mustang who is now 18yo...and neither of us like it. Maybe I need to look at NV, AZ, or CO.

City girl born and raised, country girl at heart and soul. Mom and Dad raised 6 children and were frugal doing so. We would have beef tongue and liver and kidney regularly. Beef tongue is delicious: mild in flavor and very tender. Liver and onions was definitely not something I enjoyed as a child, but now I do. Mom made something she called kidney sauté...hated it. The texture and taste was "pinch your nose and swallow" quality, but I survived. My husband and I live in true northern California, close to the Oregon border. We only eat local beef and lamb. Prather Ranch for beef, and we find individuals raising sheep for our lamb. It's the only way to go!

One aspect that cattle grazing helps with is decreasing the amount of combustible material that contributes to fire danger. A lot of the land used for grazing is not flat enough for crop raising or might not be accessible to farming equipment. Some of the land is more vertical than horizontal. People don't realize that the wolves that are being introduced are not the native prairie or timber wolf. These are Canadian Grey Wolves, a larger sized wolf that has more litters per year, will kill for sport and can range a lot farther than the native wolf used to. In Northern Wisconsin, the wolves have decreased the number of game animals available for hunting. If the pack comes upon a dog, they will shred it.

Is the corn NON -GMO that she uses to finish her cows and what other grains does she use. I bought a bundle from a local farmer , who said they fed their cows a Snack every day of corn and grains .The hamburger was OK but tough and the steaks and roasts were so tough and poor odd cuts that I could eat it , I couldn't cut into it let alone chew it ....I do not eat any meats with blood in it , many times I use the pressure cooker which seems to tenderize it but it sure didn''t their meat and I was hoping it would be good place for me to buy my meat maybe 5 miles from where i live and nice really nice family . Oh but I was going to say my blood sugar shot up when I would eat their meat where even store bought it doesn't ?????? I know what helps to tenderize it like her ranch does by Aging it that is wonderful and I am so glad Trinity you have brought this to for front for USA We the people because we sure want to continue to eat beef and not grasshoppers.....thanks for letting us know almost a good Reporter for the Ranchers ......good job I am trying to share this all over but ole fb often won't let me post maybe one video a day on my messenger to my 4700 friends .......I did post the Lisa's Female Rancher story you did thank you again and again.

Food for thought My buddy is from the Denver Area. But has lived in NM for 25 years till now. He was telling me about this recreation problem that CO has. On the weekends Friday and Saturday and Sunday. The Mtns are inundated with people from everywhere. His thought is that if they price the fishing/hunting licenses so high for non-residents they will quit coming and the locals get to have a more enjoyable time. Another friend from Colardo springs just heard they were going to up the NR fishing licenses up $75 so that would make year price almost $200 it use to $50 in 2018. Be careful with hikers and bicyclers they are usually the one pushing for these. And also dye hard fly fisherman. I almost got yelled at for wanting keep a fish to eat on vacation one year and was using a spinner.

Mrs.VanWinkle , you said avery crucial fact that college isn't for everybody . I believe that trade schools are much more appropriate for real world work like ranching . Liberal college bull-crap stuff is mostly a waste of time and money as well as pollution to a young impressionable mind , PERIOD !!!!! I blew my chance with my Dad to work the family farm and expand it by hitting the bottle . I regrett that decision to this very day , I broke my Dad's heart as well as mine . You have to give the children some rein and let them experience a bit of life to a point . If they can handle it that is a bonus for everyone .

There’s a problem here. First off, more people, more problems. Feeding soo many people is going to be a problem. But do we literally kick everything off the planet to accomplish that? Ecosystems need their predators to stay healthy. Cows are slow and fat and do not fare well escaping them. But however many cows you’ve lost to the wolves eating them, think how many we eat. How can we deny them the food to stay alive? It’s kinda like we demand food stores, filtered water, and the ability to move about in relative safety and to sleep safely at night. But we don’t allow animals any of that. Wildlife is never safe from us hunting, trapping or poisoning them. How can we expect to take every bit of risk out of our existence, and should we expect that? I don’t think we can expect that.
