The genre of this film isn't going to help her. Toni Collette should have received a Best Actress nomination in 2018 for "Hereditary" and Lupita Nyong'o should have received one for "Us" this past year. Neither of them got it in part with both being horror films. I should note that the last movie where Amy Adams starred in which many people feel should have received an Oscar for was also a "genre" film, although a science-fiction one.

The only parts they had to redo was the third act and the ending which confused test screening audiences but I believe the delay and the reshoots helped the movie as it looks fantastic and I am very excited to see this thrilling movie!

It was mentioned and a clip of the movie was briefly shown. I also read the reason it was delayed the first time before COVID 19 had something to do with bad test screening reactions on the ending.

@ nocchi, I wonder how unpredictable it is. I haven't watched the film nor read the book. Yet, I guess... Amy eventually finds out the truth of a perfect murder deployment case. Why murder? Usually, people murder coz of (i) money, (ii) hatred, or (iii) insanity. So, is it bingo of what I have guessed? 😅

Remember when she was selling purses in the office? Her breakup with Jim really took a toll on her. 😁 Kidding aside this was a great book! The classic unreliable narrator with a few twists. Hope it would be a great adaptation!
