Thank you for your review. I am a veteran of the North Vietnam 1972 Easter Offensive, which most Americans don't know about b/c most American combat troops were gone by then. When I was a soldier in Vietnam, I was very appreciated of the nurses b/c they were all volunteers (even doctors were subject to the draft) ... Thank you nurses, and God bless you. We always counted on you!

One of Kristen Hannah‘s other books, Winter Garden, is the book that took me from a thriller reader to historical fiction reader. I still love a good thriller, but historical fiction is where it’s at!

I just finished this book and it was amazing. As a military spouse one thing this book accurately portrayed was the infidelity of married soldiers especially when they are deployed. A lot of men will create a whole family in another country knowing that they have a wife and kids at home. So sad.
