@G. Good,So? It was merely a comment. I was unaware that Orson Bean had passed. I enjoyed the Twilight Zone episode he was in. He had to choose between being successful and fitting in with mainstream society and giving up all the things he loved and held dear,like driving his old Rickenbacker,building model ships,listening to zither music and playing with the neighborhood kids. He made the right choice in the end. He seemed like a swell guy. Alley obviously felt so.

Her as Norma would remind me of Elizabeth Montgomery, and I mean always (minus the witchcraft). The fact that she was told to act as a mother who just wants to live in good tensions in suburban life of the '60s, kinda shed a hint of whom that person would resemble into being - then again all women who became mothers in that time period of life had reputations of being the best of the best in a family making them a whole.

Sorry,but going out and getting a job doesn’t transform someone into a human being,and making a career at the expense of your family isn’t a virtue. You’re judging the past by todays self centered “me generation” standards. All those women who were housewives and mothers were “people”,and the role they played was priceless. The DID do something fulfilling and important. There is no job more important than raising your children and being there to teach them right and wrong and keep them from getting into trouble. Focusing on a career and chasing after money and material possessions doesn’t make you a “person” or give you an identity. Watch “my fathers office”. Do you think Jack liked being stuck at Norcom and felt fulfilled there? A jobs a job. His priority was his wife and family and keeping them sheltered and giving them the things they needed. A marriage isn’t about selfishness and what one person wants. It’s about two people who love each other sacrificing for each other and doing what’s best for their children and each other. It upsets me that people buy into that BS about having a “career” outside the home making you a person. She did get a job later when the kids got older,but being a mom shouldn’t be looked down on or seen as “doing nothing with your life”. That’s nonsense

May I say the same thing I did in Dan's interview, Dan was DAD and YOU WERE KEVIN'S MOM!!!! This Show, this series was PURE GOLD, Every Episode.!!!!! “It’s kind of a period thing,unfortunately,maybe,to want harmony”. I’d definetly remove the “maybe”. Those were better times for sure,and the contribution women (and men) made to family relationships by caring about someone else BEFORE themselves is what love is all about. People were mature and realized that part of marriage and family is compromise and sacrifice. Women back then weren’t “bimbos”,they were wise,and feminine. They hadn’t become “hard” like men had. People cared about presenting harmony and unity in front of their children. Those are all good things and why so many relationships lasted a lifetime back then. Alley played Norma to perfection. She was kind,loving and wise. She knew that Jack would sometimes be gruff,but understood he had a hard time and work,and loved her and his family. That’s how it used to be. People used to focus on the good in people and not make issues over unimportant things. She’s the kind of mother every kid would have loved to have had,and the kind of wife every man hoped to find. Alley and Dan were fantastic in their roles.

The problem with this generation and the one before is that it's all negative and everything is horrible etc. When the world isn't just black and white. Women have had hard times but look at how many accomplishments women have had over the decades. It's interesting how Alley speaks about the effect the Vietnam war had on that generation which was one before mine. We had the exposure of the Korean War in ours with the show MASH which brought humour to a very morbid subject. They had Woodstock music festival which was a giant demostration against that war. That was the turning point of the boomers which influenced much of the Rock of the 70's. It was the 80's where the common traditional family of the suburbs came under full attack with the acceptance of homosexuality and the disco revolution. This was the same time that the White shaming started with the civil rights movement and the introduction of Roots to instill guilt for the past offences of our ancestors. Kevin Arnold was me growning up so the show became one of my favorites and still is. Notice there are no black actors in the show other than the mention of the respect for Martin Luther King who was assasinated around the same time as JFK was. I was 1 years old when that happened. Our generation had maybe one or 2 black people in our white suburban neighborhoods but that was about it. They were treated special and were the one's with the actual privilege they speak about today. This present day generation doesn't really have this type of defining moment as of yet. I guess you could say they are at war with the LGBTQ alphabet people but that is a minority event being blown way out of proportion by activists. The real memory will come with the battle against the NAZI WEF that are attempting to Globalize this planet and enslave them all. The plandemic and the purposeful poisoning of their children. They will be known as the sheeple who raised the WOKE generation that foolishly went along due to the purposeful Liberalization and indoctrination of them throughout the education system. This happy times of the Wonder Years does not exist for this generation and that's just sad. It was stolen from them with a fake plandemic and a destruction of their childhood while they lived in paranoia behind unnecessary masks and behind closed doors while the government destroyed their parents economy. What a wonderful show it was! We still love watching it. The “new” show is more than disappointing as they removed everything that made the original show unique and enjoyable to watch. The entire “ woke” ideology ruins everything it touches…including every one of these shows they reboot. They completely ruined Roseanne with the same woke agenda, putting boys in dresses etc and then killed the main attraction which was and will always be Roseanne herself. They should have killed off Darlene.

well in some ways yes and in other ways no.the show was about the 60s and how life really was back then.her and the show did really well at portraying it like it was back then.feminism was a part of that time period.

Agreed. Women got sold a bill of goods that going out and making a career and money gave you an identity and was some sort of accomplishment that fulfilled you spiritually. It didn’t. It just created selfish materialistic people who chased after money at the expense of their children and farmed out the most important work (being a mother and raising your children) to servants. Do you think men enjoyed going to work everyday for 8 hours doing something they didn’t want to do everyday just to come home tired and upset like Jack? No,they did it because marriage is about love and sacrifice. A man and woman thinking about what they can do for each other before what they can do for themsleves.
