First amaro I tried was CioCiaro, started on the sweet end and moved towards more bitter over time with Cynar and Campari. Amari are great neat, but some soda water and a twist of lemon really opens it up so recommend it like that if you're at an amari-centric bar.

Funny that you placed the Zucca to the right towards more bitter. I found the sweetness to take a hold of the biternes at the end, the contrast being so large that I didn't even enjoy it by itself. I find Lucano and Cynar are more balanced in that sense. Vecchio Amaro del Capo would be a great one missing here. I've never seen the Cynar 70, the Varelli one or that brand of Fernet, really interesting!

Oooh. That’s a cool request. Boozy and more on the bitter side or medium alcohol and more on the chocolate side? I’m thinking the directions can be either a chocolate influenced Negroni, or more of a bitter influenced chocolate martini, if you prefer the latter option.

OMG, thank you so much for making this video! As many people during quarantine I got in to home cocktail mixing, I focused on spirits, mainly scotch and bourbon at first. I finally ventured into trying Campari, it was hard at first (kinda like when I first tried peated whisky a punch in the face hehe) but slowly but surely I fell in love with it, now I love Negronis and Boulevardiers. Now I want to get more serious into Amari, I am decanting towards Amaro Nonino or Amaro Montenegro, and probably Cynar later. What about Chartreuse? is not an amaro because is not Italian or because of its ingredients?
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass 3 жыл бұрын
Wow. I am really happy you liked the video. Chartreuse falls into a bigger category “herbal liqueurs”. While there is quite a bit of overlap and similar ingredients between amari (which are also herbal liqueurs) and herbal not labeled as amari the 2 main differences are that amaro is “mostly” made Italy and they have that dark caramel color. Cheers

Thanks for asking. I do not consider Campari an amaro. If you would like to check out my Video from two weeks ago on Amari versus bitters versus Aperitivo’s I give a better explanation. Thanks for watching my channel Rick

Thanks fior the feedback. The music was originally set to be lower but I asked the editor to take it up a notch. I should have listened to the expert!

Your presentation is appealing and the information very useful, it is a shame you have to compete to be heard against a ticking whirlwind of drum machines. Your articulateness renders a soundtrack entirely unnecessary.

lol. Let me clarify for you: There is no more poison in Amaro than there is in other liqueurs. Cheers.

Question. Have you ever tried "Amaro Dell'Etna". I just picked up a bottle, and was wondering what you thought of it....
@MasterYourGlass
@MasterYourGlass 3 жыл бұрын
Dell’Etna is great. I would place it somewhere in between the Lucano and Cynar 70 from a flavor intensity and alcohol content (29). It has a lot of vanilla and cocoa in addition to the orange citrus and bitter notes found in Amari. Nice purchase! Enjoy it and let me know what you think about it!

@@MasterYourGlass Thanks. I've made 2 cocktails with it so far. A Negroni style, subbing Dell'etna. Very flavorful. And What I call the "Dell'Etna" cocktail. 60 mil Dell'Etna, 45 mil vodka, 2 dashes ang bitters. Stirred, over ice, orange garnish. You can really taste the herbs in it!!! I'm going to try it with bourbon tonite!!
