True Waldport is a gem

Waldport has best fleamarket in the world 30 years old and thriving Wednesday and Saturday fresh food and art market Cafe Bistro Museum

When I was a kid I had a friend whose family owned a beach front cabin, still do, about 2 miles south of Waldport. In the 70s and 80s the dock area especially was really rundown and dirty. We used to crab there a lot. I was really surprised how much it has changed, that whole dock area and the new bridge look really good and there's a lot of good places to eat and enjoy the beach.

We did look at Waldport when we were home shopping, and it is a great little community. We didn't end up buying there , but we still stop by from time to time... Great town. They also have a really good 3rd of July (Yes, 3rd...) fireworks show.... And yes, great birding there...

Crime rate? Property crime? Farmers market?

There isn't much data on crime in the area, which is generally a good sign. They have the Wednesday Market and there is a farmer's market just 8 miles south in Yachats as well.

There is a farmers market here in Waldport on Wednesday starting in Spring. There is crime but not much. All the jobs in the area are going to be in customer service mostly cooking or serving or working in the hotels or vacation rental cleaning.
