I hate to say, that RS5T sounds like crap, the 37 bell is dead, and it sounds like a couple others are too, but cant tell what ones, other than what sounds like the 55 is dead too mostly as well.

Got any suggestions? When the locomotive came down from New York, only one or two chimes were working. I took it apart and cleaned it best I could, plus replaced a few diaphragms. It sounded good before going to New York, but ran in an industry where the horn was never used.

@@wwrr98 Interesting. I’d suggest taking the entire thing completely apart again, new gaskets donuts and diaphragms and that should be good. I got an RS5T in june, been sitting in the guy’s attic for 15 years, didn’t work when I got it, I did what I just suggested to you with it and after that it sounded perfect. Hope this helps!

@@wwrr98​​⁠what he said. it’s strange though since it sounded perfect a few months ago until the 37 bell died. I hope you find a solution for that… it’s a rarity to see an rs5t on an in-service locomotive these days. I’d love to come down and hear it in person sometime

@@wwrr98lack of usage could be a part of the issue. Maybe take it apart and clean it up. I’m not an expert in Leslie horns but that’s my guess

I’ve always been told Leslie horns are notorious for fouling up much easier than Nathan, probably due to an oily air supply?

My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🛤🚋🚞🚝🚊🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃🚂 they're one of his favorite things in the whole world 🌎. He hopes that real soon or sooner than soon that SMS Rail lines who runs this tourist railroad will restore their steam locomotive to operation and that it will pull both passengers and freight.

They just got #9 certified for operation they have a few more things left to do and then the locomotive should be going into the paint shop they are aiming to have the locomotive on the Woodstown Central sometime in 2024
