1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.

This is my favorite scripture verse, from when I was a child.... "in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God" even as a child I understood deeply what this meant....that Jesus the Word of God, was truly God, but also truly human like me a child....I always felt at ease in my Church and even when i visited other religious houses of worship I could feel a sense of the HOLY , a sense of God's Presence. THE WORD OF GOD BECOMES FLESH, BECOMES HUMAN JUST LIKE YOU AND ME....THANK YOU LORD.....

I also want to know what to do with John 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself : But the Father which sent me , He gave me a commandment , what I should say , and what I should say , and what I should speak . This is a problem for me . If Jesus the Christ is who you say he is then what do I do with 1 John 5:20? When Jesus said to be one with him as he is one with the Father , am I not part of this so call trinity ? And when someone says that Jesus said "I AM" and say he is God, what do I do with Rev 22:16 ? Well unfortunately there are no outside independent writings that can be submitted as "evidence" because any writings outside the Bible are not God breathed (2 Timothy 3:16) However there are other ways a person can "follow the light".. 1. Observing Nature and (Observable) Science (Romans 1:18-20) 2. The Law of God written on our hearts (Romans 2:15) The Bible is truth and has stood the test of time from all kinds of attacks. It just takes a person to read it to see the truth of it all.

Most men who have- gone professional and over time, then, scholars turning Agnostic/Atheist. Many lay Christians fall into text criticism and discover a bunch of things they were never taught in Sunday school. I disagree, Christian Faith is falling because of modern scholarship (see Bart D and his works). Historically, the Bible comes up with a ton of issues, look at the FORGED letter of Timothy that you are using. Anyone that is professional working in the field knows about this pseu·don·y·mous text. Coming to understand this Book is far from accurate on everything- It would allow us to sound more caring, and loving, tender, and be more accepting towards other Christians. John Mac is very dogmatic and uses very old scholarships. Scholarship improves over time, it builds upon old scholarships and makes new discoveries. I dont think you are being honest with yourself.

If someone brings forward verses that can be interpreted (because there is no clear statement in the bible that Jesus uttered while he walked the earth) in a way that he claims to be God like that he is the Alpha and Omega (This was not a verse uttered by Jesus while he walked the earth. I usually Agree with Dr. MacArthurs theology, however ,Johns Gospel was addressed to the Orient, not the Greek (That was the direction of Luke) John the Divine was writing not of the word logos, but the Mamre of Hebrew scripture...the full encompassing of Hebrew scripture (Mamre) is Christ Jesus...,for all of Hebrew scripture reveals Christ, there is no Greek scripture apart from the Septuangant was the Hebrew translated to Greek for distribution to the known world.

Because I have read the Johannine books, including all material on and every verse describing the "spirit of antichrist" which you seem to be implying I speak out of. The funny thing is, John forgot to mention once belief in Jesus' deity as being literally God in any of these warnings. In fact, John tells us the reason for his gospel in John 20:31 "These are written so that you may believe that *Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,* and that by believing you may have life in his name." Notice what John wants you to believe, that Jesus is the Messiah and the Son of God. I am speaking from the Holy Spirit and from truth when I tell you that I 100% wholeheartedly believe both of these things. Jesus IS the Messiah, and Jesus IS the Son of God. And to quote from 1 John 2:2, "He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world." Friend, we are not at enmity the way man and serpent were. I pray you heed the words I write to you. And if I truly do stand condemned, tell me such as Paul told Peter at Antioch. For I do not believe I stand condemned just because I check doctrines of men against the Scriptures, as the Bereans did. I speak from the Holy Spirit, and not from the spirit of the antichrist. This is no light matter. The spirit of the antichrist is serious. It involves the denial of Jesus being the Messiah (which I dare not do). The spirit of antichrist is also manifest in the denial of Jesus having come in the flesh (as some Jews do), and the denial of Jesus being the Son of God (as Muslims do). I condemn all such claims against the Anointed and Holy One of God. Jesus is the Messiah, Jesus is the Son of God! But ask yourself, WHY was Jesus called the "Son of God"? Is this term signifying the "2nd person of the godhead" when no such language was known to the early Church? Let's look to Luke 3:38, where we see that even "Adam" was called "son of God". Why? Very simply and plainly, God was the father of Adam. Adam had no biological father, and thus God was Adam's father. The same can be said of the Christ Jesus, who is called the "last Adam" in 1 Corinthians 15:45. Still not convinced? Look again to the Gospel of Luke, wwhere we see from the mouth of an angel the reason Jesus was called the Son of God. "And the angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore the child to be born will be called holy-the Son of God." Luke 1:35. Jesus was born by the power of the Holy Spirit overshadowing Mary, and therefore Jesus was called the Son of God! My friend, if Jesus was literally GOD in the sense of being the eternal and invisible God, why then does Jesus say the Father is the only true God? In John 17:3 Jesus prays to the Father... "Now this is eternal life: *that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."* Do you see now? The One sent and the One who sends cannot be one in the same... the God of a trinitarian nature is a confusing God, but we know that God is not the author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33). Thus, God is not the author of the "triune God" concept. Jesus, speaking the words of God, confirmed the Shema (the monotheistic nature of God) to the Jewish Scribe in Mark 12:28-31, and the Son prayed to the Father saying he (the Father) was "the only true God". How much clearer can it get? My friend, pray listen to the words I have written to you. Jesus was a monotheist, not a trinitarian. Paul was a monotheist and not a trinitarian! "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen." 1 Timothy 1:17.

The 'word' became ( not PUT ON, 'became') flesh to provide the exact equivilent to that which Adam the first man lost, perfect human life. Thus Jesus is called by Paul the 'second Adam'. ( 1 Cor 15:45) Adam was a 'living Soul' thus Jesus was a complete man, not just a 'body' a SOUL. Jesus said this at Matt 20:28. ( the Messiah would 'pour out his soul unto death Isa 53:12). If the 'word became flesh' then this was not an 'incarnation' ( not a biblical term) he 'became' not he 'put on' flesh while still being 'a God' e.t.c. As Adam was a creation of the father, so to was his 'only begotten son' who admitted that "I live because of the father" ( John 6:57) Due to his fathuful course on earth, at his resurrection he was "granted, life in himself", yes immortality proving he did not posses it before coming to earth.(John 5:26) He then was "made perfect" ( Heb 5:9). All this indicated Jesus is not God, or even equel to the father but received all from Him.

God created everything using "words". God said the word...and Mary became pregnant. No need to overcomplicate the story. Jesus is not a hybrid. Jesus is a descendant of David, just like God promised. There is only 1 true God - the Father. Jesus says so in John 17:3. God doesn't have a body. Jesus had a body, and now also has a new body after resurrection, and will always have a body. We believers will have new bodies just like Jesus, after the resurrection of course. God can't die. Jesus did die, and was resurrected by God. People please study the Bible without any preconceived ideas nor through some denominational glasses. Ask God for guidance and wisdom. The truth will set you free.
