We would like to share that we are very saddened about what’s happening in the world right now. Our hearts are with the civilians who suddenly had their lives changed completely and are now living in fear instead of living in freedom. We will continue to post our weekly episodes with the intent of entertainment and hopefully making you smile now and then. Let’s all unite and hope for brighter days and a peaceful tomorrow. Stay safe and be kind to each other. Love Ben and MP

I think the world obsesses too much over safety sometimes, but I will admit, this clip did get me a little worried lol. Gloves = bad idea, long sleeves = bad idea, dangling shirt very very close = bad idea. If for whatever reason it gets snagged, which is not an unreasonable thought, what happens next? Does it rip off and everything is ok? nope, going to pull you in... this is why gloves are not advised for use with any kind of reciprocating tool. Your skin may get cut from a tool but you wont get sucked in and twisted around it. Anyways, seems she didnt die so thats good. I work at boeing fabricating aircraft both in metal fabrication and in final assembly as a mechanic and an engineer and I also used to work on a farm where I have broken every safety rule in the book fyi, just for some credibility beyond my armchair.

@@BenJaminLongTime ok.. I worked in machine shops most of my Navy career and was raised on a corn and cattle farm ran old Holland hay bailers as a kid…owned a water well company in SE Virginia also… there’s my real world experience… it’s not always the lack of safety that hurts you, it’s the lack of knowledge of how the machine will hurt or kill you and it doesn’t care ! Especially with millennials. I see it every day with the company I own now, running 45 employees

I love watching the boat getting rebuilt. Just wanted to let you guys know that when you are working on the lathe, you should never reach over the lathe to do anything, like sanding. I always laugh to myself when seeing the boat yard and water's edge in these video shots. It looks like the area was hit by a tsunami. Please tell them we love them and would enjoy meeting them and hearing their stories and saving them for posterity. Crazy to see Ben doing the Limbo on a band saw. Wild dude! MP you scared me to DEATH. When you used the lathe you were wearing a loose long sleeve shirt and put your arm over a spinning piece. Loved all the work done so far the past year. Just remember that a wood ship is a ship that many animals eat. Keep up on the maintenance every day, paint, paint, and more paint. If you do so she will last a long time.. and also, wood shrinks and deforms, retighten all bolts and and spikes annually. Especially if it's a really rainy season then very dry for prolonged periods. If wood is allowed to shrink and expand it won't last long, it's goal is to ultimately rot. That is the cause for all the prevention methods. Love it so far, and I think u two know the investment you have made. Maintain it well..good luck!

I know it's easier to just keep the cap-rail varnished, but just hate to see that beautiful new wood get water soaked into it and stain & rot.
