In America, 1989, I heard "I wanna be adored" on "college radio" while at work. I was 18 years old and it stopped me in my tracks. If I was high I think I would have jumped thru a window. Still a great band.

Without the record player to put the records on there’s no music. Tony is the record player feel myself filling up I’ve lived in Manchester nearly 50 years and this band made the run down area worth walking about again ... @@stuartralph2212 no, it was a film about factory records and most of what was associated with the company, ie, the clubs, the bands, the band members and the people surrounding the record label. If you are being sarcastic in your comment and you knew this then I apologise for stating the obvious, if you wasn’t then you should pay more attention to what you’re watching and take in all the information given to you via the film and process it a bit better, this would give you a better understanding about the film

Tony Wilson was a visionary and a hero. Fair play. Credit due. The Roses though.... on that other side of midnight show. If you could bottle that.... its just obvious their time had come... they look and sound incredible. They knew it. So different. So ready. Its effortless, not forced or contrived. There is no media machine driving it. It had to happen. Glorious.

As a fellow Pisces I think he is complex and brutally honest yet remains true to himself. Top bloke!

not sure about influential, more influencED. you can see the smiths in there and morrisey’s on stage persona. the idea of bringing acid house into mainstream with a band? hmm we already had that with sgt pepper. using dance rhythms in rock? well we already had that with the likes of new order and depeche mode. the attitude and message? we had that with the jam and pistols good band deffo but not sure the ott lauding as the most influential band of recent years is justified.
