I just started rewatching SAO myself. It’s my favorite anime, has taught me a lot of life lessons. It’s gotten me through my trauma, and maybe even saved my life. And it also helped me find my brother. Not blood brother. For two years. Don’t know where he is, I didn’t have spoons at the time so I can’t call him. But I will also remember him. We were like Kirito and Eugeo. Inseparable.

I know SAO catches a lot of flak, but this really was a great story to kick off something truly unique for the time it came out. Not to mention the awards that the creator received for the depth of a world he created for this story and the psychology involved with the characters. You're in for a treat! : )

Demon Slayer is almost a perfect anime with only one bad episode. Unlimited Bladeworks is still better though. Might as well start with the best show that anime studio has to offer.

Compared to many other popular anime ( popularity doesnt mean quality!) which are extremely mediocre or bad ( like SAO) , demon slayer got very high ratings from viewers no matter where you look.

Your question at the end of if we could imagine being in that situation, I cry every time I hear someone react to that situation because I can imagine it, I spent over two years of my life in Iraq in a war zone as a soldier. Yes I can imagine that kind of situation, being deployed and not being able to come back to reality while fighting for your life every day… and still trying to be… a good person. Coming back was the hardest believe it or not. To have to see what’s changed and what you have missed, I missed a lot. And being a different person and overcoming who I’d became from the war. In a way watching this is a fantasy way of overcoming that reality, obviously it’s not the exact same, but the elements are. When I volunteered we were not at war, but I found out shortly after that that was the trajectory of my life and there was no way out especially once I was deployed. Anyway I really enjoyed your reaction and I hope you continue the series. I look forward to watching and I hope you have a blessed day, just so happens to be Christmas tomorrow, though I’ll be alone, it’s nice to know I’ll have some entertainment 😊. Have a great day! Just a heads up so you don't stress during your Japan trip Suzy... there's a lot of haters for this anime, and you chose the dub which is a little more cheesy sounding. Don't let it discourage you tho, the truth is there aren't many anime out there with this high level of production, it's seriously gorgeous. Also when it came out VR was fairly new so the concept of living in a VR works was pretty exciting. Can't wait till we can do it IRL! Anywho, hope you enjoy it, regardless of the hate comments you get :)

I discovered this channel a few weeks ago and I love it ! I just got one question : why don't you try to watch some of these animes in japonese with the sub ? I think the VO is more appropriate for some anime, especially those who take place in Japan like SAO. But this is just my opinion, i'm french and in my country we are used to the sub, but i think it's different in the US, more people like the dub. Anyway, i like this channel a lot, and i will be there for future reactions. 😉

I know SAO gets a lot of Hate, but I just gotta say that even though I don’t really care too much for the other arcs myself, I Absolutely Positively Loved the Aincrad Arc, despite how short it was and the obvious problems that a lot of former fans always and continue to point out even to this very day. Personally, I wished they would of made the Aincrad arc Longer than what it was ⚔️

Honestly, SAO was the first anime I ever saw, and therefore, it holds a very special place in my heart. Sure, it might not be the BEST show out there (by a long shot) but to me, it really is one of a kind. I grew up with these characters, and in some weird way, I sort of feel a sense of kinship with the main character. Idk man, I'm just rambling at this point but yeah, SAO matters a lot to me. EDIT: The fact that you're watching the dub tho kinda kills me a little inside lmao, I hate dubbed anime.
