Simon is Actually the one locked in the basement, Danny and Sam are his Over-Lords. If you listen closely you can hear them, "Dance monkey boy, DANCE!" I was in Islamabd in 95 when they caught one of the guys who where involved in the 1993 WTC bombing. We where hanging around the market in E-7 (i think, could be F-7) when we seen my friends father who worked at the US embassy , who promptly came over to us and told us to go to our friends house NOW. Which we did. Then it happened, from the roof we watched the PAK security forces and the US embassy SUV's deploy on the other side of the neighborhood. Okay Simon. Here in the States we call it a news stand (or often times a magazine stand since print news is a dying breed.) As for the person inside, they are mostly referred to as a cashier or just "the guy" (girl). While they might of had a more official title in the past, American English seems like it's lost a lot of it's flavor. Regarding Newsies, paperboys (not the ones with a bike route, but rather those hawking newspapers on a street corner) have been referred to as newsies although the term has fallen into disuse with the advent of the coin-operated newspaper dispenser.

Hey Simon, Aussie with a degree in history here. Given that newspapers were mostly consumed by the middle and upper classes in our colonial history, it was not given a common slang term. We also just call it a "Newsagent's". Although, by the 20th century you could grab a paper from the Servo, the Bottlo, the IGA, some supermarkets, or just nick one from the Macca's down the road. Being a Millennial and conscious of all that wasted paper, I prefer to bulk-download newspapers from the internet and reupload them for free.

This reminded me of this one group, they seemed quite organized and large, they had built a giant bomb in the back of a van planning on detonating it in a downtown area. However, the driver they chose to drive the bomb couldn't actually drive... They made a bunch of traffic mistakes and parked in a no parking zone immediately catching the attention of police.

​@@annastevens1526 As I remember the guy was pretty much a kid no older than 20 and was already panicking and cracking under the pressure which led him to park in the wrong spot in the first place. He complied with police completely. I imagine he had been shown how to drive earlier, but in the moment that all went out the window. The bomb was a fertilizer bomb which was meant to be detonated with a smaller explosion like a grenade or pipe bomb, AKA he wasn't supposed to leave the van. So, yeah, nothing good seems happens in a van, unless it doesn't happen at all!

I asked my local community newspaper 100 times to stop putting it in my letterbox. So I started posting it back to them with no postage. I used their PO box address to post them too and their physical address as the senders address. So they got them back either way. Everyone in my location with a 'no junk mail' sticker on their letterbox stopped getting it. I am an unsung hero!!! Worship me!!! NOW!!!
