The world's fastest diagonal lift?! Inclined elevator - Hallunda metro station - Stockholm Sweden

July 12, 2018. I've been on about a dozen inclinator (inclined elevator) style lifts in multiple countries. (In the Mid Atlantic, try Huntington Metro station in Fairfax County, Virginia) This is quite absolutely the best feeling inclined elevator to film in (even if it makes you feel a bit woozy), since there is only one set of doors, on one side of the lift, for three landings. Plus, it's very fast for an inclined lift used for public transit, so that's a plus.

Definitely not the fastest in the world. Luxor in Las Vegas would almost certainly have the fastest ones. That said, I am really looking forward to riding this one

Indeed, the fastest one still seems to be the high rise ones at Luxor, but this one (and I remember a few others in Stockholm) were pretty fast.

This isn't Inclinator. Inclinator is a brand that makes residential elevators. This is actually a funicular.

@@EWPA14 depends how closely you look. Inclined elevators are governed by the ASME:A17 code while funiculars are described in ASME:B77

The designers of the ones at the Hudson Yards 7 train station need to take notice to this, considering it's probably the world's slowest.

One of the reasons that might be is the elevators need to be able to safely slam into the pit if they over travel. The faster the elevator the bigger the pit needed to absorb the impact. Since there is no real pit and the Hudson yard for code reasons that might be the reason it has to go so slow.
