He's got that rare combination of height, body build, athleticism, creativity, power & shooting touch - you can't dispute that. Some may argue that the only thing missing from the equation was the compete level, or perhaps even the killer's instinct, since he's never hoisted the Trophy. But regardless, if you add durability & longevity to the equation, you get one of the greatest careers the sport has ever seen. Truly deserving to be enshrined in the Hall Of Fame. To have his number retired by the team he helped put on the map, in the city where he first made a name for himself, was the icing on the cake. Vince has stated that to be able to witness his old #15 go up to the rafters in Toronto was a tad more special than being a Hall Of Famer. If you watch how emotional he got during the ceremony, he wasn't lying.

I have him right behind Shawn Kemp. He had alot of beautiful dunk contest type slams but most of them were break aways or going down hill. Kemp dunked on and over everything. In traffic. Off the spin. Off the vertical. Etc. And he was 6'10" and had a 43" vertical. Vince had a whole game though. These are almost all in the paint. He had range and was clutch. Overall the most exciting player ever and a top 6 or 7 SG ever. He also played 21 seasons

@Jp2timezz I disagree.....there can only be one #1. Anyway Vince is a way more creative dunker and probably overall dunker but Kemp dunked on big guys little guys medium guys and all with power. Finesse also as a big guy. But dunking with every ingredient Vince is better than everyone

@@Jp2timezz With all due respect but VC dunked on literally every defending big man in the league multiple times: Mourning 4x, Ratliff 2x, Mutombo 3x, Dalembert, Bradley, Divac and many many more. He jumped over a 7footer IN GAME but Shawn was a better dunker while not being able to perform a windmill in the dunk contest. Watch his dunk contests. Tell me when did you last see VC miss a windmill? I'll help, in the Mcdonalds High School dunk contest. Kemp was an all-time dunker but there was only one Vince. Kemp did a one-handed tomahawk a full step behind the FT line. In some of the recent VC clips there was footage of a tomahawk dunk with his heel on the line, which is legit, while being couple inches shorter. And to finish my argument I will rhetorically ask: have you seen Kemp going between the legs at the age of 40?
